Season 8 of Seinfeld immediately follows on from the story at the end of the previous season finale, where George's fiance Susan Ross dies. He is now single and free but Susan's parents appoint him to help run a charitable foundation in honour of her memory. This means more work and it causes much angst for George in several episodes. Jerry meanwhile continues to meet some unusual characters, both men and women, making his usual observations and no friends along the way. Kramer is still living off Jerry and getting into mad schemes whereas Elaine becomes the boss at J Peterman's clothing catalogue.

This season was made after the departure of Larry David leaving Jerry Seinfeld to convey more of his own impression on the show. At ... Read More:

Monk - still crazy after all these seasons. And, let's face it, there have been two or three too many. Bitty Schram's sudden departure (apparently because she was paid less than everyone else) midway through season three ripped the heart out of the show, and the basic dynamics between the central characters have never worked since. Traylor "Trash" Howard (probably not her real nickname) just doesn't compare.

Season six is fine, just as adequate as the previous two. There are some decent celebrity cameos from Sarah Silverman (reprising her role as Adrian's obsessed number one fan), Snoop Dogg (yes, Snoop Dogg) and Alfred Molina. There's also a little bit of long-awaited progress in the overarching plot. But there's far too much ... Read More:

This is a very funny film with a number of excellent set pieces, such as the scenes with the dog and the police interrogation scene. It is not a film for the prudish, but the gross moments are very few, though well known.

It also features the beautiful Cameron Diaz and that is another majopr attraction of this film.

But there is also sympathy for the main character, her would be lover, a decent chap, and his difficulties before reaching his goal.

Matt Dillon as the sleazy PI is also on fine form.

Love it or loathe it, this movie is essentially a one line gag, although it will probably take you 93 minutes to get the joke. Although it's about a new totally immersive virtual reality game [eXistenZ], the plot has nothing in common with films like 'The Matrix' - there's no alien 'war of the worlds' threat or suchlike. In fact this film has more in common with having hot tea and crumpets inside Star Trek's Holodeck with the safety protocols off. Besides eXistenZ is firmly set in our world and time, although it probably does represent a glimpse of the Playstation-8 touchie/feelie gaming future. Like 'Sixth Sense', the films power is totally dependent on not knowing what happens at the end (and the middle for that matter). I don't see how anyone could ... Read More:

If you have seen the original "School for Scoundrels" with Terry Thomas and Ian Carmichael and you rent this film expecting it to be just as funny then you're going to be disappointed.
It's fine if you like films where wit and subtlety have been replaced by casual swearing.
Come back from the pub on a Friday night and pop this into the DVD player and you'll get a few laughs.
A talented cast tries its best with the thin script but they can only do so much.

This was a gem of a movie, built on what could have been a shaky premise: mother and daughter con-women finally outconned.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is impossibly sexy as the daughter, and Sigounrey Weaver sends herself up brilliantly. Anne Bancroft makes a lovely cameo as an older conwoman, and Ray Liotta is perfectly cast as the criminal link who won't take being conned and won't let the girls get away with it.

Lastly, Gene Hackman as the phlegmy dirty old man in the Rolls is positively disgusting, which is, I think, what he was trying to achieve.

A lovely, night-in film which is worth catching if you like romantic comedy and a bit of farce thrown in.

I went to see this in the cinema last night and haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Whilst a lot of the laughter was out of disbelief at the choices of targets for Silverman's comedy, plenty of it was at the actual material.
If you are someone who has ever been offended by an on-stage comic then this is probably not for you.
If the very notion of someone making jokes about rape, 9-11, or the holocaust is too sickening for you to handle then don't bother.
I'd recommend you take a trip to YouTube first, sample some of the clips there and then decide whether you can take the Sarah Silverman assault on the sensibilities.
From the show: "Remember, when God gives you Aids (and God *does* give you Aids by the way), make lemon-Aids."

My best childhood friend and I used to hire this film nearly every week!
In the days when velcro and tab were cool and Sarah Jessica Parker was a frizzy haired youth and things were fine!
This is one of my favourite films of all time. I was 11 when it came out and it was the first DVD I bought when I got a DVD player. I've just been listening to all the songs and I still remember the words to "Technique" and "I Can Fly" and "Shout". I'm smiling away to myself remembering how brilliant this movie is and I would suggest any little girl or woman with a little girls' heart sees it! 10/10 - Janey and Jeff forever!!!!!!!!!!!
