The last western that can ever come to life on the silver screen. After it there will only be placebo westerns. The ultimate episode of the western wilderness just before it turned so sour that your blood would curdle in your veins and your brain would either calcify into a heartless stone or liquify into a tasteless brew. The solitary cowboy is the real judge and executioner, in one word that last fatal justice maker that represents the final fate of all crooked minds that meet with their destiny in front of the barrels of his guns just before he shoots them dead with no remission, no suspension, no parole, ever and never. Fatal lethal fateful fate of a big bang death of a few trashy men who thought their violence was god's law to all others. ... Read More:

TRUE ROMANCE is a very good film. It's brutal and funny and has an excellent cast - that is with one exception: Christian Slater is a total miscast in the lead role. Otherwise it's got brilliantly staged action scenes (I like it when the pimp gets it). Finally released in its UNRATED version in the UK (rather than the cut R Rated as on VHS).

This film has something for everything, Ation, Adventure, Romance and comedy. When i bought this DVD i wasnt actually sure what i was getting. I wanted it for two reasons: firstly, after seeing the music video for the Against all odds(take a look at me now) song by Phil Collins i decided to track the film behind the song down and watch it. the second reason is that im a fan of james woods, and after seeing him in Salvador, Once apon a time in america and John Q i wanted to see some of his other work. Un fortunately at that time i bought this DVD there was no picture or even discription of the film. luckily this is what i was hopeing it was. Against all odds is the story of an ex football player(Jeff bridges) who is hired by night club owner (james woods) to track down his runaway girlfriend. according ... Read More:

Personally, I watched the movie without having read the book, which could be seen as both a good and a bad thing. On one hand, it allows me to judge the film as exactly that - a film, with no other conflicting point of reference to cloud my opinions. On the other, it means I'm pretty much ignorant as to whether or not the screen version succeeds or fails in living up to its story's potential. 'The Bonfire Of The Vanities' is a good film: nothing more, nothing less. So why, then, was it so universally slated by critics at the time of its big screen release? The answer, it would seem, is the overwhelming popularity of the piece of literature it was based on, Tom Wolfe's novel of the same name.

This movie is played on the borderline "tragedy and comic" the result, in my opinion, is a very interesting ... Read More:

Tom Selleck (best known as Thamas Magnum in the cult television series Magnum P I) return as Jesse Stone in the thrilling prequal to Stone Cold. This film which is set before Stone Cold sees Stone relocated to the small coastal town of Paradise where he becomes embroilled in murder and Money Laundering, with an abusive husband with possible connections to the mob. This is not an action packed "Shoot em up" but is compelling well acted, well written drama at its best. Tom Selleck is excellent as Stone - a role which is far removed from Magnum. I watched this before Stone Cold which does help. Now there are four Jesse Stone tv movies to date. I hope they make alot more - there are plenty of books to adapt.

This underrated, and very enjoyable political satire from 1999, stars young Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams as two not very bright teenagers who unwittingly get themselves involved in the Watergate affair. A fairly funny movie, my favorite scene must be the one where one of the girls reveal to the other the meaning behind the expression Deep Throat, but there are many other great scenes, like when the girls first stumble upon the White House tapes, and reveal to them a Nixon they didn't know. The ending, set alongside a Carly Simon's song, is also superb. What's great about this movie is the overall humor that was sorely missing in "All the President's Men" and "Nixon": in this film, Woodward and Bernstein are as much objects of ridicule as Nixon and Kissinger.
