This is actually a really great film! My dad took me to see it in the cinema, 'cos he thought it looked good. Even though I think Jack Black is fully amazing, and Jackie Chan is awesome, I didn't think I would enjoy it, since I'm not one for cartoons, even though I'm not that old. I could hardly stop laughing though! It's a great film, for kids and adults, and even the odd teenager, like me! I highly recomend it, if, like me, you love comedies! :)

Be warned this film is hardly anything like the Spiderwick Chronicles books.My son and I have read all the Spiderwick Chronicles and we found this screen adaptation very disappointing. Where's the dwarves, elves, dragons , the palace of trash and the incident at the school where Jared first meets Mulgarath ? It seems to me that they tried to make the film as cheap as possible using mostly cgi, hence no dwarves and elves and tried to save money by using ,mainly one set (the house and the estate it's on). We also found the relationships of the characters had been changed. Why? There was nothing wrong with the supportive relationship between Jared, Simon and Mallory that they have in the books which you only see later on in the film.

I am not usually a fan of animations but watched this for review purposes for a website. It is absolutely fantastic. Beautifully animated, perfectly cast and hilarious and touching in equal measure, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

summary: ok I'm biased, I love animated movies, martial art movies, and comedy in general but this really got to me - your kids will love it too!

========================
Jack Black voices Po, a lazy, overweight Panda who idolises the Furious Five kung fu champions: Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Crane (David Cross), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Monkey (Jackie Chan). However, when Po gatecrashes an initiation ceremony, he is accidentally chosen to be the mythical Dragon Warrior, who is destined to save his valley from the villainous leopard Tai Lung (Ian McShane).

The Furious Five are mortified that Po has gatecrashed their ranks, but Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) tells them that there are no accidents and this is indeed Po's destiny. ... Read More:

I had heard a lot of good things about this film so went for a blind buy having missed it in the cinemas. The film more than met my expectations.

The success of Kung Fu Panda is that it is serious about the Kung Fu element and that makes the panda part even funnier. This isn't some parody with pop culture references like Dreamwork's Shrek or Madagascar. The makers seem to really love and appreciate martial arts film and, as a result, this gets the adult market despite the childish concept. The action is really visceral and exciting, especially in HiDef. The film is shown in 1:2.35 anamorphic.

The sound is in Dolby 5.1 TrueHD and your speakers will get a good workout. As for voice talent, the three leads, Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman and Ian McShane ... Read More:

When you compare this film to shrek 1 and 2 it doesen't stand up as well, i did a bit of research and found out the director was a first timer, which is a classic Hollywood mistake, that i personaly find insulting. Why give a huge summer movie like shrek to a first time director? Clearly the first timer shows that he's not really up to the job, it is as if he missed the point of shrek completely. Where the first two shreks were kids films that parents could enjoy and laugh along with as well, its as if this is neither for kids or parents and misses the mark in several places. It is clear they have overfocused on glossy CGI production,(which is really beautiful) and not thought through the core of the story and jokes etc. Where as shrek 1+2 were built around moral tales, it seems ... I totally loved this film and after owning it a week, I'd watched it 3 times - Seth's infectious laugh is enough to make me laugh! If you like Forgetting Sarah Marshall or 40 Year Old Virgin, you should like this! Think this is actually funnier than both of them to be honest! Paul Rudd is hilarious as always and really makes this film, "I'm gonna throw you in my Delorian and gun it to '88" - my fave line from the film lol!!!

Try it, I think you'll like it!!

Comparisons with American Pie are inevitable but in my opinion Superbad is the better of the two films. That's not to say that it isn't full of male teenage obsessions, bad language and sexual references. It certainly is. However in my opinion the film's intentions are in the right place while the American Pie series went for the "gross out" option a bit too often.

The plot is familiar. Nerdy teenagers are worried about their lack of sexual experience as the end of high school approaches. An unexpected opportunity presents itself as they are invited to a "cool girls" party. The catch is they have offered to supply the alcohol for the party. They believe obtaining the booze will almost certainly result in them reaching the "Holy Grail".
Their attempts to get alcohol lead them ... Read More:

When I first heard of this film, I thought 'Yeah it just looks like another cheesy american film', however when I finally saw it at my friends house I was plesantly suprised. Not only was it hilarious at nearly every point, it was a well thought-out plot, and an all-round clever and entertaining film. I really do recommend this to anyone who enjoys relevant comedy. A brilliant film.

As a fan of slapstick and other offbeat comedies, I was mislead by the trailer into thinking that this would be another good movie - boy, was I wrong. In fact, the trailer is, probably, a compilaton of all the funny scenes in the whole movie.
I bought this at a £3.99 discount price and still felt robbed!

I wish I could have given it a 0 star rating!!!!!!!!
