At least the other movies had a tenuous grip on reality, the stunts and action sequences at least SEEMED plausible and the story lines were routed in established well known mythology. This was just too way over the top, like a cartoon. Karen Allen's grin and that god damn tarzan bit put the turd on the cake. It's all about establishing internal logic with these films. This one had none. The locations were dingy.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is another classic Indy adventure which stands up extremely well to the first three movies in the series. Those who were upset by what they saw as an 'unrealistic ending' obviously have never seen the ending to an Indiana Jones film! Put simply, this is classic Indiana Jones. Now onto the Blu ray disc itself - the image is crystal clear and the sound is superb. There are also numerous making-ofs and trailers. The only thing that would have made this release even better would have been a commentary track by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. All in all, this is a great movie and if you are a true Indiana Jones fan, you won't be disappointed by this.

Raiders of the Lost Ark For all the criticisms George Lucas has received in recent times, we must remember that he did manage to come up with this gem of an idea for a perfect action film, and in doing so he created one of the most iconic action hero's that cinema has ever seen. A role perfectly played by its star, Harrison Ford. The script, written by Lawrence Kasdan, is expertly directed by Steven Spielberg, who by this stage of his career was firing on all cylinders. He takes Kasdan's script and perfectly balances the dialogue with the action creating a finely tuned fast paced action film. this is one of the best films ive seen all year....for the people that have only voted this 3 stars or less...has problems. the effects are amazing and the storyline is good, i ave watched it twice in 2 weeks because its that good.

This is one of the best films I've seen in ages - funny, touching and close to the book. It leaps from past to present, story to real life easily and effectively, and ties up Kissin' Kate Barlow, Madame Zerone and the Warden well, mixing up the stories as seamlessly as the book does. It is a beautiful adaption of the book - the screenplay was written by Louis Sachar himself, which means that it's been done exactly as he meant it to be. Writing is making a film in your head, and this is exactly the kind of film he was writing.

The animation is incredible: the facial expressions, the body movement, the play of light, the attention to detail takes your breath away. Add to this a superb soundtrack, and you realise why it got such good critical reviews. It is a traditional story, but has been told without so much of that awful syrup and candy so beloved by Disney and, I regret to say, Pixar. The mock 'reality program' slant was inspirational, as was the cutting forward to dialogue that explained events in the past. Sorry folks, you have to pay attention to this film. You are not spoon fed the story like Disney and Pixar do. You require some brains to follow the story line. I really like the actor David Morse and he steals the show here. Well Labeouf is pretty good here too, in a very boy-next-door way, but Morse is genuinely frightening. The plot unravels in a pretty shoddy way. I mean what happens at the end? I understand it's a fun film but none of the characters look at all shaken up by what's happened; it's a bit sick actually, as if this is what happens regularly. much camper than rear window, and downright silly in places, it is worth a watch, if that's your cup of tea and i have to admit it is mine.

passable but dissapointing this adds nothing new to the genre and the climax is awful
