This was essential viewing as a child of the 80s. Think it was shown on a Friday afternoon. Straight from school to sit and watch this.

The theme tune is unforgettable (and for me one of the more memorable bits apart from the Condor) and adds to the collection of theme tunes from all these very long 80s cartoons children on the 80s seem to love.

I haven't bought the box set as I'm not sure I have time to sit through it! But who knows, maybe sometime I will want to remember...

While Masamune Shirow is perhaps best known for Ghost in the Shell, Dominion was the first of his Manga to be translated into Anime. While the original OVA follows the manga (though only 4 of the 6 episodes were made), this follows the manga's style with lots of action and humour.

If you like Shirow's more recent works, then you really should watch this. While less "real world" then either Appleseed or GitS, this is still an excellent series. Dominion (both the original oav and New Dominion) have some of the best one-liners in animé including the classic by Benten (Britain in the OAV) "We put the Terror back into inTerrorgation!"

So if you like comedy and action, this is an essential purchase.

You really should get aquainted with the series before you watch this film, the TV or the Manga series. The hour long story follows the money whore exorcist Mikami as she uncovers the reincarnation of the vampire lord Nobunaga Oda (Nosferatu). A cheesy spoof on the story of vampirism, with an end of the world threat and rich life victory. You do however get a nice poster to put up. The price however can be quite shocking as it is only one hour long, but the fact that it is a small series and a full movie may take its toll on the producers wallets, then it can be overlooked.. just.

The animation seems to be that of the series, which is a shame because most films are tuned up a notch for a better viewing experience. Beware fans of any anime, ... Read More:

DVD : Patlabor WXIII [2003] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Under-rated part of the Patlabor saga. This is the third movie which concentrates, unusually, on detectives Kusami and Hata. It's more of a monster movie that mech also. But don't let that put you off. It's very nearly as good as the first two movies - now considered classics. And the development of the two characters is well done. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed. The box set includes 2 more dvd's - disc 2 being MiniPato cartoon shorts originally shown alongside the movie. Disc 3 is loaded with tons of supplemental material.

DVD : Lupin the Third: The Fuma Conspiracy [1987] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
First, the obligatory character bios: Arsène Lupin III: Think James Bond meets Inspector Gadget. Cool, crazy, and carefree, he's never caught for long.

Jigen Daisuke: A near perfect marksman and a superb driver of getaway vehicles (ever notice how he never crashes, unlike the people chasing him?)

Ishigawa Goemon: The stoic samurai show his softer side in this film. For those of you who wonder why he hangs out with people so unlike himself, as far as I know, he's vowed that if Lupin is going to die, he must be the one to kill him. So basically, he's insuring that Lupin doesn't die in the meantime.

Fujiko Mine: Lupin's sometime girlfriend. Sort of a token female and source of much fan service.

Inspector Zenigata: ... Read More:

DVD : DragonBall: The Saga of Goku (REGION 1) (NTSC)
I love dragonball. This saga is the first saga ever: the saga of goku. It's where Goku meets Bulma, Yamcha, Oolong and a whole load of other people and he fights emporor Pilaf. This is one of the best sagas, so i would strongly advise you to buy it.
It's region 1 and NTSC so it won't play on R2 dvd players or english tvs (just in case you didn't know that already), but it works fine on any PC with a DVD drive. Ahh yes.... many a night have i spent huddled up at my desk watching Dragonball. Great days.
