I didn't know much about the Rwandan genocide. I wanted to find out more having seen the movie. This film gave all the grisly detail, and told a good story in an almost documentary style. Don Cheadle is charismatic and winning.

Alex Rider (Pettyfer) is assigned by MI6 to work undercover as a computer nerd to find out the dealings of Darrius Sayle, a man generously giving free computers to every school in England.

Based on Anthony Horowitz's award winning novel, Geoffrey Sax's adaptation is a true testament to the book, filled with that exciting Bond styled action along with a great variety of characters; this is an entertaining adaptation and a worthy watch.

Pettyfer (Tom Brown's schooldays) gives a great account of himself as the 14 year old school boy. Pettyfer gives Alex that suaveness and cheekiness that Horowitz intended and though there are a few clichéd moments for the character, Pettyfer still pulls it off.

It always makes my heart sink when I watch the "behind the scenes" documentaries of TV adaptations of books, and the focus is on how they've changed things, tried to make it "relevant to the modern age" and, by implication, improved upon the original. This is an enjoyable story, but it isn't "Oliver Twist." Now, I'm not a purist. I've just finished acting in a local version of the musical, Oliver! which also strays far from Dickens' original. But this one just isn't quite right. The characters keep the same names, but are not the same people. My particular gripe is with the way the Artful Dodger is portrayed. Dodger is a boy who thinks he's a man, cynical, arrogant and a joy to read about or watch. Yet here, he is yet another sulky, stroppy teenager. Oliver, ... Read More:

It's gritty and it gives you a realistic view of London you'd perhaps rather not see. In reality, not many people really do carry Mulberry and Chloe bags. Instead, many of them clean floors for more pennies and sometimes they have to be prepared to let their bosses use their bodies for sex, the price they must pay for not having all of their immigration papers in orders. A virgin will end up having to give up her treasured virginity to a sleazy pig who can get her the fake passport she can no longer do without. Or she'll have to work in a sweat-shop, where her proprietor 'respects' her Islam faith by 'only' making her perform oral sex on him instead of vaginal sex. It's not pretty. Immigrants to our city, especially female ones, are exploited horribly and even ... Read More:

Not surprisingly, this sequel is not as funny as the first Ace Ventura movie, but it is still hilarious and well worth seeing, especially if you like Jim Carrey and his physical comedy. The first Ace Ventura movie is an absolute classic of maniacal physical comedy, so it would have been very hard to top that. Nonetheless, if you liked the first one, you should get a lot of laughs out of this one too. Plenty of wacky nature scenes, funny animals, and car driving like only Ace can do it. Where does it rank with Carrey's other comedies? It's not as good as the top four: the first Ace Ventura, The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Liar Liar. But it's not that far behind either. A truly terrible film. I still watched it to the end in the same way people watch the wreckage from car accidents. It was un-intentionaly funny, it has the same other worldly view of London that Notting Hill had. The only people i really had any time for were the old couple. All the rest i couldnt care less for. Bunch of pretentious idiots.
That annoying young bloke chatting-up anything that moves, where was his accent from? Ewan mcgregor playing a North London gay, how obvious. The couple being ever so nice and relaxed about their imminent divorce, is that for real?
Basicly i cant understand what the films about, apart from saying; Come up to Hampstead Heath in the summer! its really nice, you may find the odd gay hanging around in the bushes, and meet the ... Read More:
