This film is available under 3 different titles. Zombie, Zombi 2 and Zombie Flesheaters. Back in the late 70s Dario Argento did his own cut of Romero's Dawn Of The Dead, calling it Zombi, for the Italian and European market. Lucio Fulci was commitioned to exploit its success and do a cash in version which was called Zombi 2 (to make people think it was a sequel). It was then released in the US as Zombie and, eventually, in the UK as Zombie Flesheaters. It doesnt have the same class as Romero's stuff but its still one of the original classic zombie flicks. The gore is everywhere and the zombies are disgusting- the one area that did improve on Romero's work. If you do decide to watch this then please try to get hold of one of the imported versions ... i will just be brief about this film ,it looks as though it has been recorded straight from video to dvd ! i am sure this is the case !
its looks very "washed out" the brilliant arthur kennedy from " let sleeping corpses lie" is in it and this movie does not do him justice.
the content aint bad but the quality is not worthy to the cover which
looks great! dont get caught out !

DVD : Women Behind Bars: Departate Della Sezione Speciale SS [1976]/Le Evanse - Le Storie di Sesso e di Violenze [1978] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
The idea of seeing two sleaze classics on a double bill dvd, Deported Women of the SS Special Section and Escape From Womens Prison (to give them their UK titles) was an exciting prospect.
However, when viewing this abortion of a release from Brentwood, all excitement is soon forgotten and thoughts of a refund loom! Even though this only costs a fiver to import in the first place, that is five pounds too much in my opinion.
I won't review the movies themselves, but the quality of the dvd instead, which can be summed up as atrociously bad sub VHS of the copied variety. Yes, it's that bad!
How Brentwood get away with releasing movies onto dvd in such poor condition is beyond me, but I do wish they'd stop.
For what it's worth, Deported Women is uncut. ... Read More:

I don't know anyone who's seen this film who doesn't love it! (well, zombie film fans anyway)
Admittedly there's a distinct lack of plot - basically a military cargo plane lands with zombies in it (without explanation) and from there on it's just a blood thirsty zombie-geddon - but the sheer non-stop brutality of it will keep all zombie fans in awe! From the very beginning to the very end it's wave after wave of irreverant characters being slaughtered! These aren't your slow cumbersome 'Romero' type zombies either, they're fast and rather intelligent with plenty of weapons at their disposal!
Day of the Dead this most certainly is not, but then it doesn't pretend to be. It's simply an enjoyable blood thirsty undead romp!

Trust me, if you like zombie films (and I ... Read More:
