DVD : DragonBall Z: Season Three (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This is it: The 33 Episode long Frieza Saga, featuring Piccolo's return, Vegeta realising he is not the legendary "Super" Saiyan and Gohan coming of age, as well as tons of fighting against the seemingly invincible Frieza. The action takes place place on distant planet Namek, which is now almost devoid of life, due to events in Series Two but there are lots of scenes of King Kai's Planet with Tien, Yamcha and co (moreso than Season two happily) and Earth.

This is a very good saga, there are some great fights spread across the first two Discs as well as tons of characterisation with Vegeta. It falters slightly in Disc 3 which is 6 episodes of Frieza VS Goku, it doesn't get interesting until he begins to form the Spirit Bomb. Disc 4 sees ... Read More:

DVD : DragonBall Z Super Android 13!: Uncut Feature (REGION 1) (NTSC) [1989]
Ok, firstly next to none of the Dragon Ball Z movies fit in with the anime series timeline, they are best viewed as alternate story routes after certain saga's, In this case, I'd imagine it is set after the android saga but as if Cell never become involved. Due to the original #17 & #18 androids being directly shown and being directly mentioned by Goku but no mention of Cell as far as I have heard, also where Cell was originally made in his place we have three more deadly androids, that said let me start the review.
I rate my Dragon Ball Z movie's on the quality of story as well as the action and how developed the characters are in the movie, The basic story is there are three more androids looking for Goku so that they can follow Gero's plan ... Read More:

DVD : DragonBall Z Bardock - The Father of Goku: Uncut Special Feature (REGION 1) (NTSC) [2000]
I would recommend this film for any Dragonball Z fan. I know many of the DBZ films discredit the show and manga, but this one's different. Bardock was the father of Goku, and he took on Frieza alone- despite being badly injured - in a desperate attempt to save Planet Vegeta (which he foresaw the destruction of). I don't know if I am just a terribly sentimental person, but this film actually touched me. It really is great and definitely one of the better non-canon things to have come out of the DBZ franchise. Indeed, Akira Toriyama (the dbz manga writer) liked this special so much he included Bardock in the manga. = ) If you don't believe me that this is good, then believe the writer of DBZ itself.
