DVD : The Mountain Men [1980] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Heston and Brian Keith are well cast in this movie, it is set in a time of change in the early west and the scenery and acting superb, alongwith a well directed script makes this a must for early historians of these time long gone, gives you an insight to a way of life in the dawn of America, two older mountain men who are still chasing a way of life which is passing them by and fighting to hold on to it, not one bad performance by any of the cast. a real classic.

Galaxina may well be the dumbest, most boring science fiction film ever made. I was revving up to launch a full-scale assault of a review before the infinitely long opening credits ended - but now two things are holding me back. First of all - and heaven only knows why - this thing started to grow on me toward the end. This is the kind of film you can look back on and laugh about, even though virtually all of the movie's spoofs and jokes fall flat as a fritter while you're watching it. Second of all - and more importantly - the tragic death of Dorothy Stratten looms large over Galaxina. This beautiful young woman, who really wasn't all that bad an actress, never lived to see its release - or her twentieth birthday. Hers is not the only tragic ... Read More:

I am not saying that this is in any way accurate to the Stephen King story but as a short action/horror movie, this in my opinion is very underrated and enjoyable and has definitely got better on repeated viewing because the first time I saw this, I didn't think it was anything special and certainly in no way did I find it scary and still don't, that is why I class it has an action/horror because each time I have seen it since, I have truly enjoyed it more and more.

This is one of those films that you might have seen but can't remember what it is called and I have a feeling that a lot of other people rate this highly even if they don't like to admit it, seriously, when I say I think this is an action/horror masterpiece, I truly mean every ... Read More:

This film had promise but in the end, I got the impression that I watching a variant of 'Stop or My Mom Will Shoot'. Diane Keaton is the over possessive mother of three daughters and you think that she will deliver a stellar performance that will eclipse everybody else. If you are expecting a whirlwind performance, you will be disappointed. Keaton huffs and puffs and in the end falls flat on her face .
The premise of the movie is really promising; seriously I could see an actual good romantic comedy made about an overbearing mother who can't let go of her children...nothing wrong with that. Well there is something wrong with this movie and its definitely the poor acting performances and an even worse script.

Diane Keaton gives one of ... Read More:

This is an enjoyable adaptation of the Sidney Sheldon novel, the first part particularly so I think, where the central character Catherine is trying to regain her memory of recent events after being found on a beach suffering from amnaesia.
As happens from time to time though, stories sometimes get slightly lost in translation from book to film and unfortunately this applies here to a certain extent and let the end result down just a little bit. While the main character Catherine (Jane Seymour) was very well portrayed, much more, for example, could have been made of the characters of Larry, her philandering husband (Peter Cetera) and Costa, the shipping magnate and businessman (Omar Sharif). As certain aspects of their involvement in the plot were ... Read More:
