I watched this film 'cold', without looking at trailers and reading reviews or 'the book'. So her is my lasting impression. The characters were excellent and the story moved through action sequences and general dialogue without a pre-set pattern so, in short, the viewer could be shocked at any moment. This was used to great effect in many scenes, to the benefit of the storyline, until the 'end' of the film. However, after watching almost everything there was to see, then getting ready for some sort of finale to answer a whole list of questions and discover the, 'who', 'what', 'where', 'when', 'why' of the whole film, we are suddenly greeted with the 'end credits'. There are not enough words to express how much I truly adore this movie, it's legendary! I could watch this every day and still not get bored, I'm not even going to wait until I have kids to try and justify me buying it.

I had ordered this title in the 3 for 2 offer in october 2008 , and was subsequently informed that it was out of stock and the estimated arrival date would be 14/04/09! Obviously I canceled it, only to find out that it is now back in stock! Now is that some bad customer service or what...

Mindless entertainment and it would be churlish of me to pick too many faults with a film that features cameos from William Shatner, David Hasselhoff and Chuck Norris!

I have never seen a funnier film (maybe apart from 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles'). I will enjoy this film for as long as I live. I would recommend it for 9-?. The basic plot is that three boys are just starting high school. Soon they attract the attention of the school bullies. These guys will not leave them alone. So much so, that they put up an ad for a proffesional bodyguard. They get numerouse responses, all of them impressive, but too expensive. Step in Drillbit Taylor. Posing as a retired bodyguard of former presidents and Sylvester Stallone and a war veteran, he offers affordable prices. The boys hire him. One of the least known and yet best films I own. From beginning to end it will hold a very big mirror up to all that is truly hateful and mundane when working in a cubicle maze for a boss (or bosses!) who can drive even the most upbeat and placid human being to new levels of insanity. The characters and their private revolution against the system have everyone who sees this movie cackling and nodding their heads. It is probably the best movie to watch on a Sunday night with all your friends, just for the look your manager gives you the next morning when you mutter the immortal line: "I could burn down the building you know...". ;)
