... and one that far too many people haven't heard of. I believe that this was conventionally animated, when CGI was taking an increasing share of the market. Perhaps because it didn't have the high-definition quality of the Pixar films (think Nemo) Disney never seemed to do much to promote it.

However, what it lacked in that area is more than made up for in outstandingly funny script and characterisation - the old-school values of animation. "I've turned into a cow. Can I be excused?" Yeah, the tale is a little hackneyed - an odd couple who need to learn to get along to overcome their enemy - but it is just sooooo funny.

I have never been fussed about the "modern classics" like "Beauty and the Beast" or even "The Little ... Read More:

Hollywood at its very very best. The performances from Al Pacino especially & Russell Crowe were spellbinding. An intelligent & totally absorbing film.

DVD : Tombstone [1993]
Tombstone is an immensely enjoyable western. And this version - the Vista series / Director's Cut - is the best one to get. I ordered it from the USA and it came in immaculate condition in an amazingly short time; but what's on it?

There are 3 bite sized featurettes (about 10 mins each): An Ensemble Cast; Making An Authentic Western; The Gunfight at the OK Corral. There is an Interactive Timeline of the actual events as they took place, Director's Storyboards, an Actual Newspaper Account (which you navigate around to read in your own time), a DVD-Rom featuring the game of Faro (the game Wyatt Earp runs in the film), also a fold out map of the actual layout of Tombstone including the OK Corral, an Insert booklet and not least - a director's commentary by ... It was great to see the Blackadder cast together again, 10 years after the show finished on such a high. It's just a shame that the latest episode 'BAck and Forth' is such a let down.
The whole plot is too far fetched even for Blackadder and sees our favourites Blackadder and Baldrick time travelling.
There are some good bits which are thinly spread across the half hour episode and even they aren't that funny.
I thought the whole cast and crew tried too hard to make it funny. It was over produced. And where was lord Percy?
This episode is only worth watching because it is a blackadder, without that title, no-one would care.
The best reason to buy the DVD is the comic releif special, which reminds us how good the show really was. The special ... Read More:

I'm not a huge fan of Russell Crow (not a great way to start a review on one of his films I know!) but watching this on TV the other night has altered my opinion!

This film is a strange one, set in the future where the personalities of criminals have been merged into one Virtual reality criminal called Sid 6.7 (Russell Crow). He is used to train police officers in Virtual Reality so they can be more capable in the real world. They begin testing the programme on Criminals, one being an ex cop called Parker (Densel Washington)

However, Sid is so advanced that he is able to grow, learn and evolve. Assisted by his crazy creater, his programme is downloaded into a robot that looks completely human, but is virtual indesructable as it is able to repair itself be attaching ... Read More:

I have bought the DVD about half a year ago and since then I practise the exercises (more or less) on a daily basis - and I note real benefits to my health and state of mind! My hips and back stopped aching, I feel light and strong, relaxed and energised simultanously.

The exercises are easy to learn (and to perform) - in one section of the DVD they are described in detail and later on you do the whole routine together with the Barefoot Doctor - I repeated this several weeks until I knew the routine by heart and can do it now every morning on the beach.

This film never really grabbed me, it's a good little film, but for me that's all.

Good performances by the cast, in particular Colin Farrell in what was only his second film.

There are some funny moments in the film, plus a few tense moments, but there was simply not enough going on for me.

This is purely a film about soldiers in training for Vietnam, there is no "action" in this film, I have to say that I did not realise this until I'd watched the whole film, it deals with the training and personal issues within the group of trainees and their superior officers before going on the Vietnam itself and that's all.

A decent enough film.. but if you google for the real story, you realise real life is infinitely sadder and real people are sickeningly more hideous than fictitious films pretend.
