High speed chases, open endless roads and nomad bikers in a post-apocalyptic vision of the future. Mel Gibson is Max, a police/highway patrolman who is determined to live his life clean and rid the roads of the scum that terrorise them. Events transpire that catapult him into another world, another outlook and new way of doing his job. A great film that looks as good as it sounds. Still modern and still plenty to admire. The film 'Saw' has a lot to thank this film for..!

DVD : Summer City [1977]
This a rather mundane low budget movie about rock & roll and details the escapades of four friends from Sydney who head out of town and spend the weekend surfing. This is similar in theme to Road Trip yet has a different content. This features the big screen debut of a quiet shy Mel Gibson as he ventures out of the city. It is quite interesting to see him in a different role than he plays now and he puts in a strong performance in this Australian film. Not exactly a classic yet it has the basics and should please some if not all with its light humour and easy to follow story. I found this film to be a good one to watch when you don't really want to focus hard on a film and you can just follow with no difficulty which makes it enjoyable to ... Read More:
