I remember going to see this and I actually cried with laughter. It's so random and silly, you can't help but smile. We need to watch out for these villages eh? I'll be keeping an eye on my neighbours in future. ;)
I remember a few people criticised it and said it was completely pointless with no solid plotline whatsoever, but I believe that is the whole idea. It's not meant to, because that is the style of these actors and writers. However, that point cannot be applied to Run Fatboy, Run and Shaun of the Dead, as they did have a central storyline. The fact that Hot Fuzz appeared so spontaneous was what made you laugh.
Oh the whole drama with the swan, I was in agony with laughter- a perfect method of stopping the evil villain ... Read More:

Amazon's review is simply wrong...

This movie is one of my favourite ever comedies, with Steve Martin and John Candy at their finest.

The movie never gets boring, the comedy is continuous.

There are parts of this movie which make make me cry with laughter no matter how many times I watch them.

I highly recommend this movie to anyone, there is some strong language in it so I wouldn't recommend it as a family movie.

I watched this at an early age and I still love it now and sing along to the songs as much as I ever did! With a geeky Rick Moranis and a scary Steve Martin, this film doesn't fail to please.
Although it looks like a kids film younger children might be a bit worried by the man-eating plant . . .however my kids love it ( little gore-hunters that they are!) Its bright colours and cheesy songs are the perfect antidote to a boring sunday afternoon!!!

A GREAT FAMILY FILM.STEVE MARTIN IS GREAT AS THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE,AS IS MARTIN SHORT AS 'FRANK' THE WEDDING PLANNER.THE FIRST DVD IS OF COURSE ABOUT THE WEDDING AND EVENTS LEADING UP TO IT.THE SECOND DVD HAS THE SAME CAST AND HAS' FRANK' ORGANISING THE BABY SHOWER ETC.EVENTS BECOME EVEN MORE AMUSING WHEN DIANE KEATON THINKS SHE IS MENOPAUSAL BUT IS IN FACT ALSO EXPECTING A BABY.STEVE MARTIN HAS TO COPE WITH THESE TWO MOST IMPORTANT WOMEN IN HIS LIFE.
I THINK THIS SECOND FILM IS FUNNIER THAN THE FIRST ,WHICH IS QUITE UNUSUAL FOR A FOLLOW UP FILM.MY CHILDREN WERE 9 AND ELEVEN IN 1996 WHEN I FIRST TOOK THEM TO THE CINEMA TO WATCH FATHER OF THE BRIDE 1 AND WE STILL LAUGH AT BOTH THE FILMS .GREAT FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT

Paul newman is class itself as the leather adorned ,abusive ,crooked but delightful hockey coach in a great sports comedy dealing with the on field and behind the scenes adventures of an ice-hockey team .

it is screwball, pantomime ,satire whatever but never has a dull moment to reckon .

there are multiple strands and lots of foul mouted, sordid ,sporty men with loads of profanities both verbal and visual but it is all relevantly integrated into the compact script.

roy hill was a really great maker who had a great sense of comic timing and he has a script to reckon with a fabulous cast -the results are an exemplary sports genre comedy for all times.

newman aged really gracefully and he looks so comfortable ... Read More:

Take the title characters from "The Three Musketeers," place them in Hollywood during the Golden Age of Vaudeville, and add a little SNL spice, and what do you have? The Three Amigos! The movie opens in 1916, when a peaceful Mexican village is threatened by the evil El Guapo (Alfonso Arau). When young Rodrigo (Philip Gordon) watches a Three Amigos movie and sees his heroes save a village - a Shakespearean "play within a play" - he sends them a telegraph immediately. Little does he realize that Lucky Day (Steve Martin), Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short) only play these Amigos on stage, not in real life. Moreover, they have been banished from Goldsmith Pictures by its owner, played by Joe Mantegna....

I'm not religious in any sense of the word, so my review will be based purely on the film placed in front of me, and not on any historical innacuracies and deviances from the actual story, or any religious implications in the film.

I was blown away by this film to be honest. The story, the voice acting, the animation, it was all faultless, and though the songs took a bit of getting used to (they didn't seem to have that sweet, flowing quality I was used to seeing in most cartoon musicals) the soundtrack fits the film incredibly well, with the obvious standout song of 'there can be miracles' made famous by Mariah carey and whitney Houston. One fault I did have however was the script, which at times felt slightly awkward, but the voice actors did the best ... Read More:
