What can I say that hasn't been said?

This is a brutally honest movie, depicting the troubles befalling a dysfunctional family. Ray Winstone is astonishingly menacing as the abusive, drug and drink-addled husband, whilst Kathy Burke plays a blinder as the long suffering wife. You'll also recognise a few faces from Britain's most-watched soap, all spouting the kind of language they aren't allowed to on TV.

It's grim. It will make you cringe in places, and the unexpected (but truly inspired) conclusion leaves you pondering with chilling speculation on what might happen next.

Hard to describe this as entertainment, but it certainly is compelling.

DVD : Icon [2005]
Like all Frederick Forsyth's novels "Icon" has made the move to film well.
This is a great action TV movie and as such is a little long at 166 minutes. But there is much to keep you watching.

As usual Patrick Swayze puts in a good performance as the hero as an Ex CIA agent. Supported well by Michael York (who always plays the perfect English man). I was impressed by Annika Peterson.

This film has a touch of real life - things in it could happen.

A good buy.

What a great guitarman Purple have found in Steve Morse. Just watch him do the guitarwork on "Pictures Of Home" and "Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming", it's amazing. Of cause he isn't Blackmore, but he's a guy who really enjoys playing - something you can hear in almost every note.
I have bought Purple records since 1972, and seen different guitarplayers come and go. I'm shure the Purple heritage lays good in the hands of Steve Morse, this guy will kick the old band back into glory.
