I expect that if your buying this you'll know what its about so I'll review on the quality of the image if I may. Some films, especially older ones have a poor quality transfer onto DVD, though not this one. Colours and detail are first class, offering up a bright colourful image devoid of any nasties (blocking etc. If you've seen DVDs of the orignial Star Wars the picture quality is on a par with them.

Bob Dylan is not always very well inspired these days. To invest his song and music in a fictitious Latin American situation with a dying general dictator, a civil war without any ideology, some dumb sharks trying to exploit some artists to organize a free concert in support of ... of what? It tries to show how Latin America is rotten, how our times have changed so much that we have lost all ethical ideology, how show business is meaningless, how even a revolutionary guerilla warfare has no real ideological objective and yet the film sets some religious objectives to this revolution. And it all ends in a fiasco. Bob Dylan is no great actor and that is not new. His music are interesting but this film is betraying them 100%.

This film is a classic, Tony Hawk does stunts, Christine Slater is still cute and all in all a brilliant film for kids of the 80's like me!

The most striking thing about this film is the really horrific clothes that the two stars wear on their vacation! Brought tears to my eyes...

But regardless of that, this is still a decent enough movie. Not really a roller-coaster of action and comedy, but still a good film with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Some of the jokes fall badly flat, and trying to believe Billy Crystal as 'Bad Cop' just doesn't work for me, although he certainly makes up for it with some great one-liners. Hey, you could see far worse.

I love all the films in this box set - if you are into gangster films then you will love this. Scarface and Donnie Brasco are both brilliantly acted by Al Pacino and Johnny Depp and Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro are legends in Casino. I also forgot how good Lock, Stock & Two Smoking barrels is (let's face it Guy Richie has made some baaad films - Swept Away anyone?) Really liked the metal box it comes in as well - well worth the money!

I'd been looking forward to watching this film for a long time. The problem seems not to do with the original cut. The director's version doesn't alter fact that the script is awful and corny, the camera work annoyingly trying to be arty. The photography itself seems unfocused and the sound is almost inaudible in some scenes.

How people use the term `noir' to describe this baffles me. On face value with the cast and the plot one might be forgiven for expecting something special. I suggest you expect a poor made-for-tv drama to avoid disappointment.
