I have to be honest, I was really dreading this film after some of the reviews I have read. My opinion is that OK, this film had a fairly flimsy story with no real depth, but as a fantasy adventure film it did an OK job. Granted it will never be a classic, but the effects were quite good, fairytale story... little people v big bad guys..... so all in all, probably never watch it again, but it was a alright Sunday afternoon no brainer of a movie.

As an ex film studies student I have all the usual DVD's anyone would expect someone to own who has a genuine love of movies. All the classics.

The Covenant is a guilty secret and is kept in the bottom drawer along with my very well used copy of The Marine, my episodes of Supernatural and anything I have starring The Rock.

This is tripe but it's just fantastic...Apparently they have magical powers? I can't say I pay much attention but they can certainly floor me with a look! Also if the ability to fill a pair of speedoes whilst not looking a total prat was a power then they would rock.
Don't be fooled, this is for slumber parties and single women like me who are old enough to know better....hmmmm

I rented this movie on blue ray and I think its a great movie on blue ray disc, the landscape scenery and special effects are really good. A bit like Lord of the Rings/Apocalypto, but the story line isnt as intense. However its an easy watch and good for passing some time. I would give it higher rating if the story line was better, but I wouldnt class it as rubbish or boring at all. Give it a try!

10,000 BC - Where to start?

The beginning of the film is characterised by dreadful acting and poor pacing. The awful dialogue fails to mask the wooden actors and the rushed pace doesn't give any time for the viewer to begin to remotely care about any of the characters, who all sound the same anyway.

You are then dropped into what appears to be a cheap rip off of Mel Gibson's Apocalypto, complete with ridiculous ten foot flesh eating birds as well as the usual 'I'll come back for you' lines delivered with all the emotion of Al Gore on sedatives, reading the phonebook. This area of the film ends with a surprisingly friendly saber toothed cat, trapped in a pit for some reason and a lot of friendly desert tribes willing to die after ... Read More:

Fast forward to the present day and four teenagers are forced to live in the modern day with these powers, though they can't resist the temptation of using them now and again. Caleb Danvers is coming up to his 18th Birthday and will thus ascend to the next level of this mysterious power, although a mysterious 5th power is seeking to destroy Caleb and take it from him.

The Review: This was a surprisingly entertaining film which, for the teenage movie ... Read More:

My rating just says that this is something that I hope to purchase sometime, when practical for me. The bad reviews beforehand are typical with most stuff I really like.

A region 2 PAL version is available from some UK outlets and given a choice I prefer that to region 1 NTSC. A question of definition. I assume that it might be available at Amazon sometime. Maybe, maybe not.

Only worth watching if you're a fan of Ashlee Simpson, otherwise avoid it. The story is very predictable, and the main female character Brier got on my nerves!!! Why is she so indecisive and miserable throughout the entire film? Ashlee Simpson does okay in her role, but her character is pretty weak.
