Where, oh where, do i begin?? I have to confess, I'm not a fan of Anne Rice's novels. But I did watch Interview with a Vampire and, whilst the film was camper than Lord Baden Powell on a scout mission, i found it quite enjoyable.

So, when I saw the next installment coming out, I decided to go and see it in the cinema with my mate Doug who has also just posted a review.

Awful. Absolutely awful. Why was Stuart Townsend cast for a start? I guess the filmmakers wanted a relatively unknown actor to play Lestat. Well, the film must have done really well as Stuart's a household name now!!!! The man cannot act at all. Clearly his trousers were spray painted on which must have starved him of oxygen for him to act better.

This film isnt offensive nor is it the best thing to come out since sliced bread. The story is well written and the cast list is impressive, the graphics arent out of this world but for this picture they are well suited.

ITs a pleasent way to spend a few extra hours, you dont need to concentrate hard, spot the hidden meaning its just a good plain honest fantasy action movie with some of the worlds most infamous characters all in one place.

I loved 'Shooting Fish' by the same director and this one is almost just as good. Really funny, great actors, brilliant dialogue and set in a surprisingly authentic looking London. Despite the fact that the plot is quite common for a rom com, this is a unique and sweet film. Well worth watching.

What a boring movie - I set out with such high expectations for this film. There is barely any story and what story there is plods along at snails pace. Half way through I couldn't wait for it to end and at the end I just wanted my money back and the 107 minutes of my life I'd wasted watching it. I did get to the end of it though which is the only reason it gets 2 stars and not 1 - in truth its a 1 and a half.

I lived in Belfast for a few years which was for the most part a positive and enjoyable experience. There is however a very nasty side to the city and some of the worst violence was carried out by a loyalist gang, dubbed the 'shankill butchers' in the 70's and 80's. The book by the same name is a great but shocking read so I had great hopes for this film! It was however very disappointing and a very weak portrayal of the horrfic crimes commited by the butcher gang. It could have been so much better. The characters and story line were very weak. Read the book, skip the film!

Really this is a beautiful film , it gets under your skin and stays there - a subtle and moving piece about loneliness in modern times.Or any times really i suppose.
One of my favourite films of all time really , can't recommend it highly enough . And check out the absolutely perfect score by Michael Nyman , it fits to perfection . If the scene on the bus with Gina McKee doesn't get to you then nothing will ......

DVD : About Adam [2001]
I watched this the other night and am still smiling now. My daughter and I sat glued to it and it had laughs in all the right places. Kate Hudsons' accent was pretty good, not perfect but then neither is mine! Frances O'Connor was fantastic as the slightly dotty sister who always has her nose in a book. But the most oustanding performance has got to be from Stuart Townsend. He was brilliant from start to finish and had us in stitches.

The story is pretty simple...Lucy,(Hudson), is the youngest daughter of a typical Irish family. She's always flitting from boyfriend to boyfriend getting bored with them all very quickly. That is until she meets shy, sweet and perfect Adam,(Townsend). The story is told from the perspective of all the members of Lucy's family, all of whom ... Read More:

Quite pointless really, clearly what they put on the cover is to entice wider audience from shall we say, "adult" category, so they will be disappointed as equally those expecting insightful drama what with Auteuil as a main cast. Interesting from the observation point of view but not a cinematic success
