When this series first came to ITV, they were really pushing the trailers, and I was determined not to watch it - never really been a fan of Anna Friel. However, accidentally saw the end of one episode, and was hooked! The relationship between Ned and Chuck is wonderful, Olive is fab, and Chuck's aunts are deliciously quirky. I even love the narrator, who I know annoys some. Whoever styled the characters and the sets deserves an award - the colours are wonderful, and the costumes cartoon-like, but they work. Lee Pace as Ned is sweet, and Anna Friel is a revelation - I am so impressed by her. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone with an imagination and a love of love.

This film adaptation is possibly one of the best adaptations I have ever seen committed to film. Featuring a standout cast including John Malkovic, Glenn Close, Michelle Pfeiffer, Uma Thurman (in one of her first films) and Keanu Reeves, of those mentioned I would say that John Malkovic and Michelle Pfeiffer gave the best performances. Both are mesmerizing in their respective roles and the rest of the cast are also on form with Glenn Close relishing her part.

I also felt the production design and the costumes were top drawer and the direction from Stephen Frears was first class. He managed to get the feel for the period of the time, 18th Century France, to perfection and brought out some dazzling set pieces and excellent performances ... Read More:

Jim Carrey is an incredibly talented actor. Unfortunaly, as a comedian, he is not funny in the slightest. If you into silly voices, facial expressions and general preschool 'now i know my ABC's' manarisms and gags, this film will be sure to please you.

DVD : Cruel Intentions [1999]
Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) stars as Kathryn, a manipulative woman who places a bet with her step brother Sebastian that he can't get the principal's stepdaughter Annette into bed.

Based on Choderlos de Laclos' novel, Cruel Intentions brings a dark and sexy tale of lies, manipulation and romance to our screens in a dramatic and diverse way, with superb acting and excellent direction and acting.

The lead three actors, Gellar, Phillippe (Flags of our fathers) and Witherspoon (Walk the line) are all tremendous in their respective roles and do the plot justice by giving sexy and sophisticated performances in one of the sexiest dramas of the 90's.

The plot is very character driven, which was helped along by these great performances. ... Read More:

If you're looking for a bright and cheery film to watch then you will like this one - it's packed with humour and has some good singing and dancing and is visually very colourful to look at.It's a wacky love story based around actors at a school producing A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare and it is consistently crazy and doesn't make the mistake of trying to be serious now and again too.

I remember this film on TV years ago - I was far too young and didn't get it at all. However after reading some reviews recently I decided to by a copy - particularly after seeing Ethan in Before Sunrise and being a puzzled graduate myself I thought it was worth a watch.
Reality Bites did not disappoint - it is witty, quirky and perfect for twenty somethings or anyone going through a bit of a life crisis! The characters are really well developed and Ethan is brilliant at playing the brooding Troy. The chemistry between the central characters is smouldering and despite my expectations there was no hint of cheese or "chick flick" corny slushiness! Which was a relief as certain films promise brilliance but let you down at some point, usually near the end. The soundtrack ... Read More:

DVD : Wildcats [1986] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
WILDCATS was a funny and entertaining comedy with Goldie Hawn at the top of her form as a high school track coach, who wants more than anything to coach football (her late father was a football coach). She finally gets the opportunity to coach a high school football team at a tough inner city high school where the majority of the students are Africa American or Latino. Of course, Goldie's Molly McGrath meets the obvious resentments from high school boys that you would expect finding out their new coach is a woman, but she does eventually win them over, even at the risk of losing custody of her two daughters to her uptight ex-husband (James Keach). Nothing new or inventive here but Goldie lights up the screen presenting a smart yet flawed character trying to live her dream. Nipsey Russell ... Read More:

I watched this film last night with my two sons and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, laughing out loud at regular intervals.

It revolves around Jimmy, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who was born without any immune system, brought home by his mother from hospital and kept in a large plastic bubble for his own protection. When the film opens he appears to be a normal well-adjusted teenager, playing guitar and larking around. However, he has been dubiously home-schooled by his religeously fanatical mother who fills his head with all manner of strange and warped information about other cultures and, most particularly, girls. As he has never left his bubble, and his father never seems to speak, he has no other point of view to disprove his mother so is in blissful ignorance. He thinks he ... Read More:

This film has something for everything, Ation, Adventure, Romance and comedy. When i bought this DVD i wasnt actually sure what i was getting. I wanted it for two reasons: firstly, after seeing the music video for the Against all odds(take a look at me now) song by Phil Collins i decided to track the film behind the song down and watch it. the second reason is that im a fan of james woods, and after seeing him in Salvador, Once apon a time in america and John Q i wanted to see some of his other work. Un fortunately at that time i bought this DVD there was no picture or even discription of the film. luckily this is what i was hopeing it was. Against all odds is the story of an ex football player(Jeff bridges) who is hired by night club owner (james woods) to track down his runaway girlfriend. ... Read More:
