Really enjoyed this film and I am really am not easy to please (so I am told). No need for me to add words to what other more literate reviewers have said. Really good.

I thought this film was brilliant. I loved it at the cinema and couldn't wait to buy it on DVD. Of course it helps that the gorgeous Dr McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy is in it! The chemistry between the two actors makes you believe in them. Go and buy this film if you love a chick flick!

"Eyes Wide Shut" is Stanley Kubrick's last film.

Like all Kubricks, "Eyes Wide Shut" is a film that appears on the surface to be relatively straightforward, yet isn't, if you want it to be. You take from it what you want. When I first saw it, I was disappointed. I was expecting genius. And yet, like the layers of a peeled orange, the more you look, the more you see.

Visually it's fabulous - the colours and textures of the film are sumptious. You can tell when you watch it this guy started off as a stills photographer. Like Barry Lyndon, each shot is framed like a painting.

In terms of plot, "Eyes Wide Shut" is fairly one-dimensional. On the surface it might seem like a fairly basic morality tale about the ... Read More:

I think this is an interesting film to watch rather than a very humorous or involving one.It will appeal mainly to people who are forty years or older who can understand and relate to the mid-life crises of the main protaganists. One married couple's marriage falls apart and then their friends start to think about their own marriage and that falters too.
Woody Allen plays a university professor of literature whose wife secretly writes poetry but thinks he is so critical that she is too scared to show it to him.As in many Allen films you get to hear his paranoia about what he fears he could be like himself in real life and the usual undertone that everything around us is poised to tumble into chaos.A film for high brow people who like serious novels. If ... Film about the recriminations that take place between an insurance salesman (played by Samuel L. Jackson) and a high-flying attorney (played by Ben Affleck) following a car accident involving the two of them that manages to royally screw up both of their lives. A good study of the consequences of selfishness and the folly of unchecked anger. Definitely worth a look.

What other reviewers seem to be forgetting is that Stanley Kubrick died during the making of this film, and therefore it is not complete. Having viewed this film several times, i admit that it is certainly his worst film - but that is only because Kubrick never had the chance to perfect it. I would only reccomend this film to a proper Kubrick fan, no-one else would be able to appreciate it.

Cecile De France plays Jessica, a new arrival in the capital who works as a waitress in a cafe that adjoins a theatre, a concert hall and a prestigious auction house.

In these venues rehearsals and preparations are underway for three contiguous events: the first night of a production of a Feydeau farce starring a successful soap actress who is seeking artistic fulfilment (Valerie Lemercier), a Beethoven recital by an accomplished pianist who finds the conventions of classical recitals too restrictive (Albert Dupontel) and an ageing art connoisseur's (Claude Brasseur) auction of his entire collection.

All of these artistic souls frequent the cafe and Jessica sallies forth between these interlinking storylines and characters, bringing sweetness and light wherever possible. ... Read More:
