I love Tamsin Greig. I love Mac. I love this. Green Wing to me is just one of the most perfect comedies out there. The comic timing is unbelievable, and the cast is one of the strongest I've ever seen. Long Live Green Wing.

Series 1 was up there with Faulty Towers, Porridge and Only Fools and Horses. Then the BBC bottled it and didn't commission series 2, 3 and whatever based on the original premise where Alice and Gil would probably meet by the end of seies 2, and then take it from there. The BBC executive who dropped the ball at this point must be the son of the Decca A&R man that failed to sign up the Beatles. As a result, by the time Series 2 was commissioned, Gil had to be written out because the actor, Michael Landes, was no longer available. As a result, we now follow only one storyline, so viewing time has been halved, putting the new series into more familiar sitcom country. The ingredients of superb casting, great script writing, a touch of surrealism and some brilliant classic slap stick moments make this make this a shear delight. Not many comedies make you laught out loud when you watch them by yourself - this one does and it delivers the laughs by the bucket full in all three series.

I am one of those people who doesn't tend to laugh out loud at this sort of stuff. However, an exception was made for practically all of the episodes on this (particularly Grapes of Wrath): the comedy is so eccentric!

Black Books is one of the best comedies of the new millenium and the second series keeps up the high standards set by the first series and continued in the third series. The regular characters of Bernard, Manny and Fran are back in place for more mayhem. This series starts with 'The Entertainer' which revolves around Fran's attempt to learn to play the Piano. There is a great scene where Manny discovers that he can play the Piano. Of course Bill Bailey is a good Pianist and infact apart from the duet actually played all the Piano music used in this episode. The episodes keep up the high standard set by this opening episode. Series 1 of Love Soup was a real treat. Subtle, witty and poignant. I am pleased to see that the writers haven't continued in the same vein in Series 2, as to do so would, for me, have ruined the ending of Series 1. This is still a cut above the rest. Yes, Series 1 was better, but this series is still fantastic and very watchable. As always, Tamsin Greig is wonderful. If you liked the first series I would be surprised if you don't like this.

Top surreal humour. Very silly and has several laugh out loud moments, a fantastic way to whittle away a Autumnal Saturday afternoon. I fyou don't like this like some reviewers, no worries, just go back to safe humour.

This is a remakable piece of television. It mixes two storylines of people perfect for each other who may be destined never to meet. The writing is genius (even more obviously so on second viewing)and the acting from a superb cast is pitch perfect. You want the two leads to get together to save each other so very much it's totally compelling. Buy it now because you will want to see it several times...

i really loved this show so when i found out it was on dvd, i went straight out and bought it. i really hope there will be a new series for us loyal fans who loved the show. The ending of the last show was to good to leave it just like that! The characters were totally relatable, and many people find themselves in such similar situations, not knowing that the 'one' is so near. i really was rooting for these guys to meet! please bring on a second series BBC!!!!
