This film surprised me in more ways than one: Rowan Atkinson was much better than in Mr. Bean, for starters. Yet another thing that surprised me was how funny it actually was, I expected something on a par with 'School of Rock' which I have previously reviewed (look for 'school of rocks and pebbles and stuff' if you wish to read it), but it was just in a very different league. For example, 'Johnny English' has plenty of laugh out loud moments, and an ending which is entertaining, not just some big shoot out( the coat scene is pure gold.), so why the four stars?
There are laugh out loud moment, lots, however some jokes are just overused: certain jokes are nearly as familiar as,
"Duck!"
"Where?" Then something hits the hero on ... Read More:

DVD : Why Did I Get Married (Full Dub Sub Ac3 Dol Chk) [2007] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
I mainly decided to watch this film when I found out Jill Scott was in it. She made a good attempt and looked beautiful on camera. She's especially good in the South African film "Ladies Detective Agency". Each couple had their own story to tell and they told it simply although there were times I kept finding myself stretching some of the scenes and lines, feeling they could have been fleshed out a bit more but i understand budget constraints :). I've only just realised, after surfing around Youtube via Tyler Perry that he has since made a couple more films, I've watched the trailers so will be ordering "Daddy's Little Girls" and "Meet the Browns".

Keep going Tyler, you'll get better and better each and every time.

DVD : Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls [2007] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
I like Tyler Perry - ever since I saw 'Why Did I Get Married?' (the play version and then the film with Janet Jackson) - I wanted to see Daddy's Little Girls. I ordered it, and the day it arrived I sat down with my two eldest daughters to watch it.

It made me cry, it made me laugh, and it made me happy. Yes, it was corny and cliched. Yes, it ended too soon. And some of the characters were definitely only 2 dimensional.

But for all of that, I felt it was a film that showed that black men love their kids too, can be there for them, and that love should not depend on your income or status.

Heartily recommend.

P.S. Idris Elba is seriously FINE!!!!

DVD : Johnny English / Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie [1997]
He knows no danger!

He knows no fear!

He knows nothing!
The exact words to describe both of these films, even though the bean movie is in a completely different context.
The Bean Movie has to be my favourite, the best bit being when they have to prepare a dinner and they havent got enough time to cook the turkey, so they microwave it and it explodes!
The only problem I found with Johnny English was the incredibly bad french accent put on by John Malcovich. It was overdone, and at most times was very irritating to listen to.

Still, apart from this, good value from Amazon considering at HMV the film Johnny Enlgish alone is £19.99!!!!

Get this if you like Beans mishaps!
