Death Note 2:The Last Name(based on the hit anime and manga) starts after the end of the first. Now the game is higher than ever Light and L and working on the same playing field and who ever and the one to lose...will die.

Once again the acting is great Light and L and great in this and Misa was even good (a suprise to say the least)even minor cast were great. The only problem some fans of the manga and anime will have is the ending is new but the makers were told to have only two films they didnt have the time to do the whole story.

Thus we miss these two from the manga: Mello and Near (N and M) but that isnt a big deal.

So any Death Note fan should check out both films they are a treat!

Death Note is a live action film based on the hit manga and anime of the same name.

For a start it stays true to what its based off there is some great acting.

Light(The villain/anti hero of the story) is brilliantly visualized and as for L well the same can be said only even better!

It does change some of the plot (its a film and it doesnt have time to play with like the manga or anime)but its done right and even a fan wont know what happens next!

Well worth it fantastic version of a great series.

Man I just watched this film one of the best horror films i've seen in a long time this makes the grudge(american remake) look like a comedy. Be warned this is subtitled so that might piss off some people but that's fine by me as long as it's a good horror movie and this movie is a great one indeed. Fantastic storyline, gory, great characters, great twists. This aint a horror movie like the grudge, the ring or the excorcist(all great horror movies by the way), after you watch it you get a creepy feeling inside you I don't really know how to describe this horror movie this has too be seen. If you're sick of crappy american remakes or their ever so boring teen slashers or whatever, you aint seen nothing till you watched this. Clever, creepy, not your average ... Read More:

This was one of the first foreign films I ever watched.I was curious to see what the original idea was like, after watching'A Fistful of Dollars'The Japanese version was much superior, and hugely entertaining.Toshiro Mifune plays the wandering Samurai warrior brilliantly,as he gets the two rival gangs battling against each other.A timeless film, and a class act.I never tire of watching it!

Myself, I would have been satisfied with just a different set of classmates going through the Battle Royale grinder, with maybe a couple of new rules thrown in. That's it. That's all I wanted. I wasn't asking for 'Godfather 2'; just 'Jurassic Park 2'. A second beer basically. It would never be the cool refreshing shock to the system that the first beer was, but it would get me drunk.

This film isn't any of those things. It is as dull as a dayjob and dispiriting as a dayjob. The black humour of the first film? Gone. This is as slow and boring as a hand drill. It is really no fun at all. The Lost Boys out of Peter Pan, all with guns, in uniform, hiding in a tunnel. That's what this is. It -

Listen. This is the only DVD I have ever returned to the ... Read More:

I won't review the actual movie, but the copy of Sanjuro I received is a Hong Kong version by Mei-Ha.

Why is my review title "Hilarious"?
Well the subtitles are an example of someone not being fluent in English and making up their own words. 'Suspicious', for example became 'Suspectious'.
I kid you not.

If that wasn't enough the names were all Chinese - not a single Japanese name - Sanjuro became 'Chun'... and yet the dialogue is still the original Japanese.
Very weird!

Id only partially annoyed me. I know the film well, so the fluffs and strange names for familiar characters jarred only a little.

Still an excellent movie... just don't get a Hong Kong copy!
