Rent is a brilliant musical set in New York, following a story of friendship, love and music. The cast, most of whom starred in the original broadway production, are fabulous, and make the movie extremely worth while watching. The songs are fantastic, ranging from the lively 'La Vie Boheme' to the saddening 'Without You'. The film made me Laugh and Cry, and overall it is Fantastic. The whole film becomes EVEN BETTER when Maureen (played by Idina Menzel, who's got a brilliant album, I Stand) appears. She brings light to the film with a slight comedy, but overall just her brilliant acting skills.
This film is a MUST SEE. Once I saw it, i fell in love with it, its THAT GOOD! :D

Showed this film and they absolutely loved it. This film is very funny and entertaining but says a lot about brotherhood and friendship. I thought the acting was very credible, although I didn't really rate Taye Diggs in this role.

I love Sanaa Lathan and after watching Love and Basketball, Disappearing acts as well as Something New, my expectations were high. After 3 minutes I stopped the DVD to check that I had the right film because up until then, it comprised a bunch of hip hop artist (most of whom I have never heard of) boring me with their tales of what hip hop means to them.

After 20 minutes I realised that I did not like story, characters or the acting. Everything about it was lame. I found the story contrived as well as weak with no depth or meaning. The characters were monotonous, uninspiring and totally uninteresting. In my opinion, Lathan and Taye Digg's acting was weak and to me, there was no on-screen fizz or excitement between them. They did not make ... Read More:

The beauty of this movie is that it truly likes and cares about the people inhabiting it. There are no cheap jokes or sight gags. The humor develops from real situations and real characters starting with Harper Stewart (Taye Diggs). Life is good for Harper. His first novel is about to be published. He is in a comfortable two-year relationship and it is the weekend of the wedding of Lance (Morris Chesnut) and Mia (Monica Calhoun), two of his closest college friends. The bad news is his novel is a thinly veiled account of his college years and an advance copy of the book has found it's way into the hands of another college friend, Jordan (Nia Long). Jordan has in turn read the book and passed it along to Harper's inncer circle of college freinds. The really bad news ... Read More:

The audio is the best I've heard on blue ray and the video is equally impressive with the vivid colours and detail of the period costumes shown to great effect.Exhilerating musical numbers, beautifully designed sets and great performances make this unmissable.

Bought this when I saw it cheap after about the first 10 minutes you know you have cocked up and should have kept your money in your pocket. This is total crap the acting and so called story is below average I really thought this would be good but it was a big let down. The blood and gore is quite tame so if you like your horrors with a bit more of a bite I would advise you to stay clear of this. If you enjoy your films which is mostly in the dark and limited scares and gore this is for you. I recently watched the second film Return To House On Haunted Hill and that was a slightly better but don't expect to much because you won't find it with either film.

I have read the book, which contains much more than the film, but nevertheless the film is great!!
Beautiful Angela Basset, handsome Taye diggs make a good looking couple. The scence with Whoppy on the hill is my favourite, saying "God is here".
Also great music which fits to each scene!
And the magnificant Half Moon Hotel, where I have been myself is the perfect location for this romantic love story.
All together, I never watched a movie as often as this, and will watch it over and over again, cause everytime I see it, it makes me feel so high...and as the soundtrack sings free...
Feel free, and be free.
True and heartshaking like life itself...

Ok, another spin-off series. expected it to be just ok. In fact i found it one of the best spin-offs I have ever watched. great new characters as well as Addison who we all hated at first but grew to love. Good and different new story lines. And best of all, a new love interest for Addison. Cant wait for season 2
