This is the side of New Zealand that you probably would never see. A sad story and some dark humour mingled with the real issues the film tackles

I didn't even know there were two sequels to this, that probably means they're awful. I liked From Dusk 'til Dawn very much, but didn't take it to seriously. In fact it's the only Tarantino movie I like. I think he's too over-rated as a director and writer. He gives me the impression he'd stamp his feet and throw a tantrum if a Hollywood studio said "no" to one of his films. He needs to chill and grow up a little.

FDTD has all you'd expect in a Tarantino flick: guns, blood, a few gratuitous deaths, more blood, a bit of horror, and oh yes, a multitude of swear words. Tarantino, one-dimensional? Never! Oh I almost forgot women, more specifically scantily clad women. And for me, this movie has one highlight: the dance ... Read More:

After the superb, emotion-jarring 'Once Were Warriors', I was extremely dissapointed by this sequel. While Temuera Morrison is still excellent in the role of Jake the Muss, the material he is given simply does not stand up. What made his character so gripping previously was the sinister, unpredictable nature of his shocking violence. In this follow up where he seeks redemption, Jake is almost reduced comedy character at times.
What made 'Once Were Warriors' show shocking was the incredibly realistic portrayal of the Maori family falling apart; barely hanging on for survival in a predujice New Zealand society. Unfortunately 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted' chooses to focus more on a sexed-up version of Maori Gangs (complete with cartoon leaders/members), which ... Read More:

Oh Dear. Speed never need a sequel. It was a solid action movie with good performances and - most importantly - lots of speed, the essence of the film. Unfortunately, Speed 2 lacks both of these things, as well as anything else which could make it a good film.

Annie (Bullock) is off on a cruise with her new boyfriend, Alex (Patric). But surprisingly things don't go to plan when a crazy ex-employee of the ferry company with a terminal disease (Dafoe) takes over the ship using only his laptop. So its up to Alex, Annie and a few stupid crewmen to save the day.

So that's it in the way of plot. I'd go onto character development but there's nothing to say about that so I'll skip to the acting. Although Bullock is given top billing, she is (unfortunately) ... Read More:

I'm not sure they got this film right. The heart throb guy is very pretty. The wealthy guy is evil. The sister is stupid and should have been left to die anyway. The scary man would like to find his wifey-popsicle. The Mountain was big but the air was a bit blowey, the snow was warm and inside the mountain it was very very cosy (they even had drugs 'n all!) The one thing I am sure that they got right was the American psyche that the way forward in saving stupid people's lives is to go in with high explosives and blow everything up. Who said life doesn't imitate art.
I have got to say though that I really enjoyed this film. I watched it for free on tv but to make sure as little revenue gets back to the producers etc, I am going to boycot all the products that were advertised during ... Read More:

I purchased this film for less than £2 so i was not expecting anything beyond a simple action film. WRONG - this film is one of the worst i have ever watched. From the begging we are subjected to the worst acting i have ever seen - seriousy! What follows is a total waste of time, rubbish sets and crappy villians. Total absence of talent and pride from everyone involved - just glad they didn't make a sequel!

This film is amazing. It is defonately a must see and a must have. Samantha Morton is just brilliant in this film , everyone in the film plays there parts really well. The music is really heart warming and sets the emotional tone for the film just perfect. The war scenes are wicked to...If you ain't seen this film then get to your local Blockbusters NOW !!!
