I've been watching Dumb and Dumber since the 90's and cease to get tired of it's 'dumb' humour, and the wonderful gel that-is Lloyd and Harry; two city bums in desperate need of a break.

They story has already been covered many times by other reviewers so I'll skimp here and explain the 3 stars.. this DVD edition has some odd cuts. I originally owned the VHS release which had the theatrical version of this film, but this DVD is different in many scenes. Parts have been cut out, some added, some scenes made longer, and what is absolutely noticeable throughout the whole of the film is that surely 75% of the scenes are either acted or spoken differently, suggesting this may be a Directors Cut, if the editor has used different takes ... First saw this in a double feature with Monty Python and the Holy Grail thinking it was a B-movie - how wrong I was. This is sheer perfection - the acting, script, set designs, lighting etc. etc. There is nothing to fault in this film and it guarantees plenty of laughs at every viewing. Gene Wilder : never better; Marty Feldman : priceless.
NB. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is not bad either!!!

Exellent conversion to Blu-ray. A bit grainy in parts but gives this classic film a new lease of life. Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition) [Blu-ray] [1977]

Special effects should be convincing, even when this was made, but relying on an upside down turned car and mashed tatties and dodgy miniatures spoils the story. As if aliens are going to travel all this way after kidnapping pilots and sailors just to have a jam session on top of a mountain with a hippy scientist and his organ. Like Jean Michel Jarre and ET having a duet. Its silly. Aliens also are supposed to be green and not like the ones here. Aliens are hardly going to visit us if this is what we think of them. Unless they are the For Mash Get Smash aliens which is where the mashed potato could actually mean something.

I have to agree with the other two recent reviews which found this movie less than entertaining. I fell asleep twice watching this - it's technically very good, yes, but entertaining? Certainly not. Give it a miss.

This movie is beautifully shot and wonderfully cast. Anyone who's grown up loving horses will be transported to another world. It's hard to find a movie that so successfully communicates the beauty and majesty of the horse like The Black Stallion does.

Funny, fun, fun, bit toilet humour (no really)

but the uncut version, pooee!
same really

Worth it for teenagers parties or when you have had a bad day and need a beer, curry and a laugh or two.

Far better than this meagre release would indicate. Solid performances from everyone, a clever story with a few twists and it's nice to see an unashamedly feel good movie that manages to end without ladling on the syrup factor.

It has been shown on UK TV by Channel 4 in widescreen, so why the R1 1.33 only vanilla release?

We demand a decent DVD release. I'd replace mine like a shot for a good widescreen transfer with a few insights from cast and crew into the making. Some of the scenes out in the countryside on their car journey just scream out for the open vista of widescreen.

And careful not be a spoiler, but I'd love to know whether the need to have main cast members releasing feathers from their pockets at a crucial moment was down to a last ... Read More:
