Iron Man is a great film, in fact it is my personal favourite of 2008 just beating out the Dark Knight for me, and far superior to Indy 4.

Robert Downey Jr really does make the film, and his portrayal of Tony Stark is right on the money, credit must also go to Jon Favreau (Who never seems to get a mention) for great direction that never gets silly or insults the intelligence of the audience (Like so many superhero films do).

Good job guys, can't wait for the second one!!!

Not being a big fan of the Iron man comics, Director Jon Favreau and star Robert Downey make this awsome, high impact superhero movie one that even non-comics fans can enjoy.

Recent appetite for bigger, brighter comic book movies have ranged from the good, the bad and the just plain ugly. We've been given Spiderman, Batman, Superman, X-men, The Incredible Hulk, plus many various others with at least a dozen more expected over the next couple of years. So since the comic book adaptation has forged, quite fairly, its own sub-genre, each superhero venture must stand comparison with its other brothers and sisters. Iron Man is a very enjoyable addition to this long line of blood relatives of Marvel and DC comics and the like.

Robert Downey Jnr becomes the most unlikely big screen superhero star proving definitively that a Hollywood career can survive just about any controversy. He plays Tony Starke with relish from ... Read More:

This film is fantastic. I rented it and watched it 5 times before I took it back and then ordered one from Amazon. I'm not in the habit of watching films repeatedly, and neither are my family, but even as my sister watched it for the first time she said "can we watch it again when it's finished"!

Perfect casting for the kid, he's amazing... adorable. The story is entirely music based, and even being completely tone deaf, I loved the whole thing. Buy it, rent it, whatever, just give it at least one watch :-)

This is a brilliant film and Robert Downey Jnr makes this film one of the most enjoyable of 2008. Not only is he gorgeous (just look at his arms!) but he makes a believable cynical hero. That and Jeff Bridges makes this film an age old fight of male power and good versus evil. Plus as many explosions as they could throw in. A great present (just make sure you get yourself a copy too).

By now, everyone probably knows what the set-up is, but for those who don't: 1) A wealthy man is undergoing a heart transplant... 2) When his operation begins, he realizes that he hasn't been anesthetized correctly... 3) He then hears doctors considering whether to just let him die... 4) Amazingly complicated plot-line ensues...

Even though there could have been better ways in which Awake's premise could have been accomplished, director Joby Harold makes the film so visually sumptuous that it doesn't really matter. Hayden Christensen is quite good in a classic man-in-peril role, and equally good is Jessica Alba playing Hayden's two-faced girlfriend.

Admittedly, there were moments in this film which made me take a step back and consider whether ... Read More:

I love foster's films(Contact, panic room, nim's island). So I could not work out how I missed this one. It's another really great film with her and the cast.worth a night in to see,But not one of her classics.for that reason i recomend renting it or buying it cheap. As it is a must see but after that it will only collect dust, unlike other films there is nothing you won't understand or miss the first time you watch it.

I'm glad I've never seen the trailer since it sounds as if it would completely remove any element of surprise.

I bought this simply because I recalled a good review somewhere but all i knew was WWII/Willis/Farrell/POW really and the blurb on the back was brief to the point of secrecy. After only a few minutes though i was transfixed and remained for the next 120 minutes or so. The attention to detail, atmosphere, characterisation, plot twists are first class. It's real antidote to The Great Escape, the feeling of desperation, discomfort and sheer degredation of being a POW are starkly portrayed. The real surprise was Bruce Willis's underplaying and intensity allowing Colin Farrell the floor and elevating him to the real star turn. The other characters were brilliantly realised, the commandant, the ... Read More:

This revenge film has a lot of action, attitude and good old fashioned destruction. Convincing performances and a real edge to some of the dialogue lift it up. This movie delivers well.
