One of our favourite episodes of one of our favourite shows, utterly ruined by pathetic canned laughter, and clumsy editing. The BBC should be ashamed of themselves for desecrating one of the classic Trotter brothers' adventures.

We've all seen this classic episode by now. After witnessing the results that a dating agency has brought to the local street cleaner Trigger,Derek(Del Boy) Trotter decides to join the same dating agency and is matched up with an 'actress' named Raquel.They meet at Waterloo Station.'This is like a scene from my favourite film 'Brief Encounter' suggests Raquel to which a confused Del replies 'Yeah,I loved the bit when the space ship lands'! Whilst dining Raquel states that she loves the works of Shaw (George Bernard) but Del mistakenly thinks that she means Sandy Shaw and hilariously starts singing the chorus of 'Puppet On A String'! released in 1992 as a hour long special mother natures son remains one of the most infamous of the only fools xmas specials as fiction reflected reality with the subject matter,as in the show del boy markets tap water as spring water and makes a fortune,the coca cola company were later accused of the same trick with bottled water,strange but very true. This episode was watched by some 20 million people upon its release and im sure that all enjoyed this classic where del brings his scheming to the health food industry and sees that he can makle a fortune,at this stage all the characters that had been intriduced around the time of series 5 are in full flow and the script is brilliant,packed with genuine laughs and a real sense of reality flows throughout,vital ... christmas,1993 and this little gem appeared,a play on the film fatal attraction,fatal extraction uses the stalker syndrome from the film and mixes it with the humour that only fools contains. The story follows del as he is ignoring fatherhood and his significant other in favour of casinos and drinking,the truth is he is after a consignment of russian camcorders but doesnt let on so raquel is worried and starting to doubt dels commitment. Life for rodney is going well,and albert is just albert so the trio are having mixed fortunes,when raquel leaves del,del being del asks a woman out on the same day,when he gets shouted at for doing that he calls the date off but keeps seeing the woman everywhere he goes,amidst this del has a sore tooth,hence the clever ... This episode was originally intended to be the last of OFAH and, in my opinion, it should have statyed the last. Although, like many millions, I missed the OFAH Christmas special and the three episodes that followed it were extremely funny, this episode ended perfectly, with Del and Rodders finally getting their lifelong dream. The episode is as poignant as it is funny, with Rodneys dealing with Cassies miscarriage beautifully coupled with Uncle Alberts mixing up of the coffee and the gravy mix. My favourite scene is when Del and Rodney are in the flat in Nelson Mandela house and the phone rings, when David Jason says the line "Trotters Independent Traders has ceased trading" will bring tears to my eyes until my dying day. Excellent performances from the three central characters, good script & a slightly oddball theme make this a hugely entertaining piece of viewing. It's more a short story with 3 main constituent parts but they all blend easily together to make the whole thing work smoothly. One of Ray Winstone's best parts & one that he tackles with relish - the story of his relationship with his wife is hilarious & sad in equal parts as it unfolds. Well worth the money & then some!

It's Only Fools and Horses, of course it's brilliant!!! Nothing these guys have ever done has been bad viewing. I still cry at some of the rare emotional scenes that appears in some episodes. Ray Butt (producer) is a total genius and David Jason and Nick Lyndhurst are the best two actors to ever grace our screens. Don't just buy this, buy all the DVD's of these you can find.

I had been wishing the Only Fools series had finished with 'Time on our Hands', but after seeing this again I changed my mind rapidly. 'Strangers' is an all-time classic, is up there with the best extra-long specials. The story involves Del and Rodney standing in for their late uncle at a naval re-union in France. Del instantly sees this as a way to stock up on cheap imported booze, but returns to England with more than he bargained for. The comedy is at its best, the characters are as good as ever and there is barely a dull moment.

though outdone by the highly rated Ehle/Firth production I still love this one - even having just re-read the book. Both versions have something to give in script and acting.

It looks as though the Trotters are about to be evicted from their flat, and just as Cassandra is soon to give birth. So Del and Rodney set about various money-making schemes, such as Rodney attempting to write a new thriller. Meanwhile, Marlene goes missing (just after Boycie takes out a huge life insurance on her), and a photograph from an old 1960s trip to Margate shows more than just the series' regulars with silly haircuts. As with 'Strangers on the Shore', this is an example of the series back to its very best after the train-wreck 'If They Could See Us Now'. The combination of humour (the chopsticks scene is a classic Trigger moment)and the occasional darker moment work well and it's a fine way to round off the series.
