This is Peter Kays first live DVD and it's brilliant. I grew up not far from where Peter Kay comes from and I can relate to everything he says, I'll swear he's seen me using Teletext and, yes, I do say t'internet and t'Egypt. My father was just the same as his when it came to food like Garlic ...... Bread! And he used to drag me out of bed at the crack of dawn on holiday. The extras are great too, the interview is quite funny and there's the John Smith's ads as well. If you know anyone northern, you'll love this, even my Australian friends can relate to it. This is much better than the MEN Arena DVD and really is great northern humour.

This is becoming a tired format. the lines are so obvious and not that funny. Also the acting and delivery is very staged and totally studio stuff cashing in on the success of bendiorm, royle family etc etc

This is excellent as far as it goes. Unfortunately so many of the songs seem to be cut short, so it ends up as a frustrating experience. Contrary to other reviewers, I think the black and white footage detracts from the stage presentations and is a pointless, 'arty' effect. The interviews are interesting first time, but on certain tracks if you jump past the chat, you also miss the music! The performances are great, and they have tempted me to look at other live concerts. Finally, at Amazon's price, with all my reservations, this is still a bargain and all U2 fans will love it. I just wish the songs were complete.

series two of phoenix nights is right on the money,glowing television of the highest order and even better than series one ,high praise indeed.I found this series more consistent and more fast paced and the laughs were just easier to find,as i said about season one i was always entertained but didnt always scream the house down,in season two i was more or less always at that. Season two carries on from the carnage of season one as the phoenix club is burned down and brian along with his assortment of friends and employees decide to build it back but it isnt easy. The six episodes once again end too soon and the quality doesnt drop,this series is more cult in its status than all round classic but make no mistake in its right to better things,great.

I just received the dvd and though i agree that some of the clips were way too short, donavan's catch the wind amounted to about 10 seconds worth, the performances that were shown were amazing. the only bad thing about the whole dvd was the people outside the fence and the promoters who were yelling at them and sicking dogs on them, i have the woodstock and monterey pop videos and they were built on happiness and a peaceful environment for the most part except for a few disgruntled townspeople/these people were shameful and were a disgrace to those performers/i disagree with the comment that the doors and jimi were "on their way out", their voices were great, the songs were great, and jimi's guitar was amazing as usual. all in all if you pass over the dialoge from the promoters ... I am an avid Highlander fan. Having watched all the series and the first movie, So when the studio anounced they were going to make a new film going back to original format with Duncan. Well I thought great, at last someone up there has realised how bad the previous two were, concerning storyline. I was however disapointed with this, yes it had Duncan and Conner. But had very little else going for it.

I had the pleasure of witnesing Popmart at Leeds in 1997 and the very next day i was phoning Island records to see if it would be released on video as it was a amazing concert.It took a few years to come out,and when it did i added it to my collection.I have been longing for Popmart to be re-mastered on to DVD for ages and now it has,and it is better than ever.This DVD really does the sound justice,at the live concert on the night it was fantastic,and now on this DVD it lives up to that night!If you have a surround system get it on to the DTS setting or 5.1 and crank it up!!The bonus disc is also a credit,with Lemon for sale and a tour of the tour well worth watching. I knew I liked this series when I bought it, I only found out how much after sitting through all 5 series. There is a good mix of comedy, realism (well almost) and some great surreal 'out-take' moments. Enjoy it but be prepared to buy the next 4 discs!
