This movie is an unimaginative, disjointed, incomprehensible waste of time. Very poorly edited, it's a real botched version of Pullman's story which is itself far, far less 'special' than most Amazon reviewers would have you believe. If my child was entertained by this dross, I'd be concerned! I'm just glad I didn't pay to see it.

Ah, Scotland where the free roam, Private Cooper (Kevin Kidd) and his squad of misfits, including the brilliant Spoon set out on a training exercise in the remote highlands but after a SAS trooper is found mauled, the group begin a desperate last stand in a old house against a very hungry pack of werewolves.

The mix of humour and horror make the film a must for horror and comedy fans alike.

Really enjoyed this when it was on TV and pleased to see it hadn't dated. It could have been made recently even though it is over 10 years old. Wasn't disappointed and had to buy the next series. Good family entertainment - one of Robson Green's early roles - what has happened to Jerome Flynn though?

I've seen this movie 3 times now over the past decade. I'm probably more impressed with each viewing.

The story is presented very clearly and with no wasted time. A strong cast has been assembled: this is no "B" movie. Reportedly it has only made $20 million domestically since its 1993 release which is a shame. I can only assume it wasn't marketed well.

I hadn't realized that one of the leads, Robert Patrick, had been T-1000 in Terminator 2 (in 1991). It is indeed hard to recognize him here from that earlier role. He's as convincing as possible as Mike, the best friend, of the abductee Travis. James Garner has a key role as an investigator. Henry Thomas, "ET"'s Elliot and by this time a teenager, is one of the loggers who witnessed ... Read More:

Al pacinos career was still in its infancy when he made this,i believe this was his ninth film, dont quote me on that, the year was 1979 and the director was the very capable norman jewison. The film looks at whats wrong with the legal system and for the most part has a very serious, dark view on it,some laughs are oddly thrown in which upsets the balance slightly, some work and some seem quite slapstick when positioned among the turmoils and chaos and the moral message which is there for all to see.
The film details a lawyer called arthur kirkland played by pacino who wants to be the best lawyer he can be and buys into the idea that everyone deserves a fair trial no matter what, when he is asked to defend a judge who he hates and suspects may be guilty then he ... Read More:

This film is hilarious. Even my boyfriend will grudgingly admit it. I grew up from the age of 11 with this film, probably watching it once every couple of months. This is a tradition that my sister and I still carry on. It just gets better with age!

80s fans will probably recognize many of the young troopers (from Jenny Lewis to Kelli Martin to Tori Spelling), and I'm sure pre-teen girls are sure to like the movie for it's silly story, young female cast, and the hilarious antics of Shelly Long. It's a great little movie, appeals to all age groups and has some genuinely amusing lines, which I often find myself subconsciously quoting. Talking of quotes, here's a funny one:

Phylis Nefler (Shelley Long): If we leave her here injured in the wilderness ... Read More:

"Posterity! You will never know how much it cost us to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it."
- John Adams 1777

HBO did a fine job with the John Adams miniseries and took great pains to get "most" of the historical details correct. It aptly showed how both John and Abigail sacrificed so much in terms of their marriage and their family to help create and foster the birth of the United States. There was also somewhat of a more balanced storyline perspective as to fault: Colonists versus the British monarchy. It also portrayed the great love that most of the colonists had for Britain and their former roots and the great reluctance that faced many ... Read More:

Great to make a movie about the privatisation of Britain.
But why does Mr Loach have to typecast so heavily.
You can criticise society but please bring in some "realistic" personalities
portraying "working class", some diversity would've been more believable.
It's an insult to the British working-class, in my view
