Okay so here is me a huge spidey fan (of the comics) and this film dispite what meny say is NOT as bad as meny claim.

Quite frankly i enjoyed it but it needs that story telling drive it had in two and even flawed one had that as well 3 just missed in it my eyes.
There was too meny storylines and only so much time to play with but you see thats my main thing with the film the villains... well that and emo dance petey but mostly..... Venom.

Ah Venom.

He is and most likely always will be in my eyes the king of comic book bad guys its a shame they used him for min or two and BOOM gone.
The storyline was kinda stupid also but if you can get past the flaws its a good superhero film at least rent it ... Read More:

sideways has recieved many good reviews but i must write this as a warning to anybody thinking of buying this film. the characters are completely unlikable. Miles, the central character, although clearly wounded by a life full of regrets, remains grumpy, pedantic and quite frankly much too self indulgent and self-pitying for us to feel any affection for him. the wine chat which initially sparks some interest as it makes nice use of adjective prose quite quickly becomes dull and pretentious. wine chat also is not sexy and there is a particularly clumsy scence where this becomes painfully obvious.I generally like films which explore sensitive and gentle charcters but this was a terrible diasapointment and if i had the choice again i would save my four ... 4.Broken Trail [2006] starring: Robert Duvall, Thomas Haden Church, Greta Scacchi, Rusty Schwimmer, Chris Mulkey

DVD : Broken Trail [2006]
Walter Hill's Broken Trail is a good but at times a little too leisurely Western miniseries following Robert Duvall and his nephew Thomas Haden Church as they try to drive a herd of horses across country only to become sidetracked when they find themselves the unlikely guardians of five Chinese girls being shipped to a brothel - and the target of some bad men determined to relieve them of both...

It's curious how Robert Duvall, and actor who came to prominence playing a mob lawyer who deposited horses heads in peoples' beds, has evolved into the kind of archetypal Western figure of unquestioned decency you'd be happy to trust your life to - even more so when you remember he tried to kill John Wayne in True Grit! If he shoots someone seemingly out of the blue, ... Read More:

Tombstone is an immensely enjoyable western. And this version - the Vista series / Director's Cut - is the best one to get. I ordered it from the USA and it came in immaculate condition in an amazingly short time; but what's on it?

There are 3 bite sized featurettes (about 10 mins each): An Ensemble Cast; Making An Authentic Western; The Gunfight at the OK Corral. There is an Interactive Timeline of the actual events as they took place, Director's Storyboards, an Actual Newspaper Account (which you navigate around to read in your own time), a DVD-Rom featuring the game of Faro (the game Wyatt Earp runs in the film), also a fold out map of the actual layout of Tombstone including the OK Corral, an Insert booklet and not least - a director's commentary by Goerge P Cosmatos. ... The film continues in the same light hearted manar of the first film. It is a pitty that they were not able to get the same actor to play George but it does give them the opertunity for a joke or two.
There is a story line, just, but that is all this sort of 'relax and giggle' type of film needs.
A good film to give the brain a rest with!

I enjoyed this film. It's not brilliant but it is watchable and funny and a few of the characters are nicely played.
It's a film in the same vein as several others, so it breaks new new ground and is in no way original.
There is also a few narks with the storyline. I still find it unbelievable that Sarah Jessica Parker's character would have went on a second date with Dennis Quaid's and Ellen Page's actions at first toward her father contradict the way she obviously feels about him. Ellen Page again has put in another great performance, she has a wonderful fun loving glint in her eye that betrays the icy young Republican student character she plays- best thing about the film.
Definitely worth a look!

Other reviews which have dissected this film piece by piece and so paint it in a negative light are clearly overlooking the sheer brilliance of this movie as a black comedy masterpiece. The film had me laughing out light in so many places - the absurd lack of realism is the whole point. Costner shines in a nice change of direction, Russell gives the film a real edge. I agree Slater is underused. Plus Cox is less than believable but hey, she looks good so enjoy the ride. Cinematography is awesome - look no further for a real slice of Mid-West America on a road trip extraordinaire. Oh and the soundtrack is chosen to perfection too. In my book director Lichtenstein has more than pulled off a classic cinematic treasure; it's well worthy of challenging any other Tarantino-esque dark humour which may rival ... Read More:
