Lester Burnham's (Spacey) life is reawaken when he meets Angela Hayes (Suvari).

This 1999 Oscar winning picture is regarded as Mendes' finest and with a fine realistic styled direction it is easy to see why.

Dramas can often be ruined when a can of clichés is opened but Mendes keeps a grounded direction all the way through and uses a variety of techniques to achieve the ultimate shocking effect. From a simple but effective sweeping shot of the suburban residency to the artistic and now infamous fantasy sequences, Mendes maintains the realism in the film's context.

Alan Ball's Oscar winning script is superb. The conciseness of the character's lives is easy and relaxing to watch which, given the complexity ... Read More:

I was first introduced to this film as a child and have recently rediscovered it at age 23. I still love it. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are so hilarious as the evil Sanderson sisters and the musical numbers are fab. I agree there should be a soundtrack.

Definately one to watch, kids will love it, I put it on for my younger brother and he loved it. The only thing that creeped him out was the talking cat, think Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. This cat is Sarcastic, dry and ultmately hilarious.

Give it a go people. Bette Midler is ace.

Used to watch this all the time when I was a kid - bought it recently and after 5 years of not watching, it was like revisiting an old friend. This is the kind of movie that makes you feel happy for days - essential.

Who better to play down-to-earth hero Jack Ryan than the-guy-next-door? Harrison Ford does Tom Clancy's character complete justice. With his crooked smile, and as ever fantastic acting, Patriot Games is a sheer pleasure to watch.

More often than not, movies do not do justice to the books. This however is not the case here. Of course a movie cannot possibly include all the little details that a book can, but even those who never read Clancy's books would enjoy this movie. Good dose of action and drama...couple of hours perfect entertainment!

Before she was engaging in who-can-wear-more-mascara contests with Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley was trapped in a bunker with Thora Birch and two guys for 18 days. I expected this to be a film about four teens trapped in an underground bunker trying to survive as days turn into weeks (two and a half to be exact), but that really isn't what The Hole is all about. That fact becomes obvious in the opening scene, as we watch a haggard survivor emerge and shuffle her way back to safety. Once she begins telling her story, I thought the rest of the movie would just be one big flashback leading us back to the present - wrong again. The plot to this film is much more dark and insidious as all that - and, while it's not problem-free, I think the film is all the better ... Read More:

This is a really enjoyable film. Focussing its attentions upon the young person's search for identity, the perpetuation/cessation of teen-angst malaise and the fear of conventionality, this is a proverbial hoot. A cracking, well-structured script infectiously and sympathetically portrays an early, formative rites-of-passage tale with infectious and engaging humour. Everything that "Juno" ought to have been but wasn't, this is a must-see movie!

I was rather dissapointed with this offering. The episodes lacked depth and mood, and some of my favorite episodes are on the other series, such as 'Worlds Apart' and 'Inconsistant Moon'. There's less of the other-worlds of the original series, with mainly just Mars if any off-planet at all, contrast that with the original series, being more adventurous and going anywhere they like in the universe to stage the shows. I don't think I'd bother with the other new series if they come out, but see what's on the second series of the original. As like the original, a 'Best of the Outer Limits' is what's needed in my opinion, although they won't make so much money on that, it would be value. The episodes are watchable though, but the original series left it's mark on my conciousness, ... Read More:

Maybe it all depends on your expectations, but having read all the reviews here, I felt the need to say something more positive. Yes, there maybe faults, but I still thing this movie is far better than many other game-made-into-movie attempts (Mortal Combat or Doom for example). It's not like the games, in fact, which I believe to be an advantage. But it's fantasy, it's got the different races and some weirder creatures (I quite like the Beholder), it's got good looking actors (maybe not the dwarf), some battles and some romance. It's not a character drama if you're looking for it, but serves well enough for some light Sunday morning family entertainment.
