I rented this movie on blue ray and I think its a great movie on blue ray disc, the landscape scenery and special effects are really good. A bit like Lord of the Rings/Apocalypto, but the story line isnt as intense. However its an easy watch and good for passing some time. I would give it higher rating if the story line was better, but I wouldnt class it as rubbish or boring at all. Give it a try!

10,000 BC - Where to start?

The beginning of the film is characterised by dreadful acting and poor pacing. The awful dialogue fails to mask the wooden actors and the rushed pace doesn't give any time for the viewer to begin to remotely care about any of the characters, who all sound the same anyway.

You are then dropped into what appears to be a cheap rip off of Mel Gibson's Apocalypto, complete with ridiculous ten foot flesh eating birds as well as the usual 'I'll come back for you' lines delivered with all the emotion of Al Gore on sedatives, reading the phonebook. This area of the film ends with a surprisingly friendly saber toothed cat, trapped in a pit for some reason and a lot of friendly desert tribes willing to die ... Read More:

I bought this film coz it looked intereting and i like films that are confusing and make you think throughout. Which this film did. I really enjoyed the film and not knowing exactly what was going on, trying to piece the plot together. But i felt very let down by the ending. No questions are answered. It undid alot of the conclusions i had come to for other parts of the film and left me feeling a little cheated. There was no big twist or revelation. Unless im being totally stupid and missing the point, i got the feeling that it just 'ended' with no explanation to any of it, and made me feel like it was a complete waste of time having watched the rest of the film. the ending could have taken many more interesting routes which would have validated the ... Writing a play is a tiresome burden when you don't have the faintest idea what it is going to be about but you need to hand it over real soon. Fortunately, Will Shakespeare finds his muse and the authors of the screenplay also had at least a brief encounter with theirs.
Basically a romantic comedy SIL offers much more that the standard "boy meets girl, boy loses girl" scenario - they present it in a fantastically well rendered setting taking as much as they could from the Swan of the Avon.
A perfect way to spend an afternoon - you get your share of romance, adventure, and literary history (the latter should not be taken at face value, however). Do you need more?
