I LOVE the Disk World series and was very much looking forward to this film. It's a great adaptation of the first two books AND there's an interview with Terry at the beginning, which is almost worth the price of the dvd on its own. The man is seriously funny.
I know that Terry endorsed the choice of David Jason as Rincewind, but I'm sorry, he's just not Rincewind. He gave it his best shot, and David is a national treasure and a great actor - but he just wasn't the best man for the job in this case.
Sean Astin did his best as Twoflower, the Tourist.
The Luggage was excellent, but didn't feature as much as I would have liked.
It was great to see Tim Curry brought out of seclusion to play Trymon, the baddie and all the ... Read More:

This film is about seven old school friends who were stalked by an evil clown when they were kids. But thirty something years later the defeated monster comes back from god knows where to seek revenge. ThIs is where the story begins and the film becomes repetitive. You watch the crazy clown make seven personal and anti-social visits to each one of the characters, struck with terror each one of the seven characters thinks back thirty years to when they first saw the clown and how it could come back after so long, unfortunately the film takes you back with them to bore you with their boy scout childhoods. At this point it felt like i was watching a childrens adventure like the goonies not a horror film. And if that wasn't enough, you then get the joy ... Read More:

No matter what anyone says, and no matter what happens, no other musical can beat the one and only "Rocky Horror Picture Show"! Seriously! I know I may be exaggerating, but tied with the Baz Luhrman classic Moulin Rouge!, this is THE greatest musical of all time!

What I like most about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is the fact that it has its own inventive style. I mean, look at musicals like Mary Poppins and Sound of Music (both good films by the way). While they have people singing nice lovely songs aimed at families, RHPS tells about a "Sweet Transvestite" and his servants whom dance to "The Time Warp". How many musicals use THAT idea? Also, the characters are brilliant, the story is well thought-out and the songs are all-singing, all ... Read More:

All I can say is WOW! this is one of the best films I have ever seen, none stop comedy from start to finish, especially in the character of clueless Morgan.
The whole muppet cat is magnificent. From this film I feel i have learn't a valuable lesson: the best thing about being a pirate is you don't have to wear a suit.

Originally bought these films on video as they were released for my older children and they have been long-term favourites with all the family - so much so that I am now looking to buy them on DVD as our video tapes have seen better days, plus video player also on its last legs. My kids are almost word-perfect on certain scenes of the films! Their laughter is often in anticipation of scenes to come! Have enjoyed all, though family consensus is the the first one is the best.

Rincewind the wizard was never my favorite Terry Pratchett character, but I have to say they did a fine job turning this book into a three-hour film. (Or two TV episodes, whatever.) It had a good cast, including Jeremy Irons and the toothsome newcomer Laura Haddock, who did a fine job in the role as octogenarian Cohen The Barbarian's fair maiden.

Most of all, the dragons, buildings, and space turtles were detailed and beautiful to behold, created on a budget which would have lasted a Hollywood studio through lunch time. We are clearly out of the age where a TV production would have inferior graphics.

I'm hoping they will continue to make films from Pratchett's books, there's a wealth of humor, great stories and outlandish ideas ... Read More:

If you hate horror films watch this one. There's nothing to be afried in Scary movie. From mickey of Scream to Saw, Charlie's angles to the ring, every film has a suprice. The chartacters are finny and scared stifless. To me David Houser makes a superb job. And if you are afried of laughing don't watch this. Scary movie is a comedy horror that you watch agaon and again and if you liked Sean and Marylon Willains in White Chicks you love Scary movie one, two, three and finally four.

My nan bought this film on video when i was a little nipper and i would put it on whenever i went to visit her. Me and my cousins would sit and sing along with the songs and knew the whole script! The video is still going strong and my cousins 3 and 8 year old daughters sit and sing along to it too. Was very happy to find it now comes on DVD. An absolute classic!

I used to watch this film a lot when I was a kid. I still love it today. It is the best film I have ever seen. It has a fantastic cast, with Tim Curry being the best. It's funny and has loads of great one liners. I liked the fact that you can choose to be shown 1 ending at random or all 3 endings together. I was slightly disappointed that this DVD didn't have any more extras on it. It may be based on a boardgame but it's one of the most original films I have ever seen. This is an essential purchase.
