Drop dead fred is an absolutly fantastic film. I can't even remember how i heard about it - i was born a year after it was even released - but whatever it was that sparked an interest only happened recently. I read lots of reveiws without having seen more than half anf hour of the film and found them all to be dissapointing, all pointing out the flaws and negatives - which, having bought it and now looking back, i cant seem to find in this film.

The hilarious portrayal of Fred by Rik Mayall was fantastic - both brilliantly funny and also amazingly touching when it's needed. Pheobe Cates hits the character of Lizzie perfectly and just brings the tone of the film into something great. And you really have to have a respect for any ... Read More:

It is remarkable to me how well this film's appeal has held up over the years since its initial release 30 years ago. Ably directed by John Landis with a talented ensemble cast in which John Belushi (John "Bluto" Blutarsky) generates especially inspired mayhem, Animal House is within a tradition of earlier comedies, both on stage (dating back to ancient Greece) and on film (notably those directed by Preston Sturges), in which Irresponsible Youth and Civilized Society are in direct and constant conflict. In this instance, members of Delta House (anarchists and hedonists) versus the Omegas (prim and proper prudes) on the Faber College campus in 1962. The adversarial relationship between the two fraternities is exacerbated by Dean Vernon ... Read More:

Be warned: You may throw up during this movie!

Those under fifteen are not permittted to watch it (thank good), and I STRONGLY advice everybody else not to. If you for some abnormal reason find it funny watching guys eating huge ammounts of warm dogs semen, you may have my copy, but hurry its allready in the garbage.

First saw this back in 1989ish on BBC 2 as a 12 year old and loved it then. Only seen it a couple of times since and, seeing as it feels like it will never come out on region 2, i went and bought this.
Film isnt hysterically funny but it will make you laugh. v v v entertaining, great to look at, great score, great direction.
Extras are brilliant - 1hr 40 documentary, lots of deleted scenes, extras and home movies.
This new directors cut extends the movies running time to 2hrs 40. Some of the new scenes work, others are just plain dull. But its just great to actually find a copy of this movie.
Still could do with a region 2 edition but for the moment this is the best we can get here in the UK.

There are not many films based on eating disorders so any that portray an honest reflection are a welcome addition. This one is certainly that and for a relatively small budget film it is well made and acted.

It basically tells the story of Beth who is a star student living with her divorced mother, but being in regular contact with her father as well. On the surface it seems they all have a loving respectful relationship in which there seems to be considerable communication and praise for Beth. However unknown to the parents this praise seems to be causing more and more pressure for Beth. The fact that her mother is also a psychiatrists is maybe a little far fetched and it would have made it more interesting if she were to have had a more 'common' ... Read More:

I loved Fletch, from the moment I saw the first film I thought that this was a great film, and even the second one rated highly in my mind. Perhaps it is a touch of 80's nostalgia (apparently a rather typically UK thing) but I always thought these films weren't as loved as some commedians vehicles to stardom (Eddie Murphy for example). I was so happy to see that I could get these two films together, it's just a shame that there weren't any extras, not even a trailer!

I enjoyed Bruce and Michelle's acting so much in this movie. This movie is about children, love and middle ages. I saw this moive in a theater at first, and I didn't regret one cent of the money I spent. Also, Supporting actors were fantastic as well.
But I wouldn't recommend this movie to action movie lovers.

Not as good as the original or "Sudden Impact", but still a great action film. Descent directing - and as usual great acting by Eastwood. What else do you want?
