It should have been good but it was dull and boring. I'm glad I did not buy this.

The film itself is well shot and the effects are very good which almost goes without saying these days. The script is plain and lacking any kind of natural dialogue, and the acting is of the usual wooden standard but the well known adults make up for that. But what about the story itself?
Well when I read the book, and then in the film, it struck me early on that alarm bells should have been ringing when Harry's name magically appears in the Tri Wizard Tournament. If it's been known to be fatal in the past and that the tasks are extremely dangerous even for older students, well if we consider that Lord V is intent on killing Harry isn't it likely there's a connection? Nobody sees this. And the whole goblet port-key issue is overlooked as well, as if nobody ... Read More:

All three series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet were very much "state of the nation" stuff. The first series showed a country crippled by a socialist government, the second series the changes Thatcherism brought and the third one now shows a world changed completely by the post 1989 events. The lads have all fallen on hard luck: Dennis is reduced to chaufeuring a drug dealer around, Neville's marriage is on the rocks and his business is failing, Wayne is dead, Bomber is terminally ill, Moxy wanted by the police (nothing new there) and Barry is married to a two timing Russian gold digger. To regain their self respect (and some money) they embark on a business venture orchestrated by a shady ex-politician ( a thinly disguised Jeffrey Archer). But Auf Wiedersehen is not just about the ... Read More:

The Philosopher's Stone was ok and The Chamber of Secrets bored me to tears....so I just have to say that this movie was excellent. I'm 31 and don't normally like stuff like this but The Prisoner of Azkaban is an exception to the rule. Entertaining, atmospheric and great cinematography. I will definately buy this one but not the rest.

I have been watching Auf Weidershen Pet since the day it was first show on TV and I felt it somewhat sad that the Special will be the last time that we see the "lads" doing what they do best, making us all feel good. For those Aufpet fans out there they could not have asked for a better ending to a absolutly wonderful series that has given them so much joy over the past 20 years.

After I saw the first Harry Potter film a few years ago I refused to ever watch any of them again, as I am such a loyalist to the books, and felt that the films could never live up to them. However, the trailer for the fourth film intrigued me so I gave in and went to see it with some friends, and actually quite enjoyed it. I have now given all the HP films the benefit of the doubt and seen them all up to date, and although they don't match up to the books they are pretty good films nonetheless, and that change in attitude was all thanks to me seeing Goblet of Fire. Although it is not the best representation of the book, characters and scenarios are relatively well realised, and the score is fantastic. The effects are pretty good too. There are few let downs - tiny technical glitches that book ... Read More:
