DVD : Mac and Me [1988] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Me and my sister used to watch this film over and over in the 80's. I have just come across this on Amazon and have to order it. The story is good. If I remember rightly, the young boy in it is different as he is in a wheelchair and is quite lonely as he and his family have just moved into a new neighbourhood. He befriends a cute girl and of course Mac the Alien. Mac gets seperated from his family and finds himself with the boy. The part I remember is when the cute girl is attached to a hoover and it goes up the wall. That was funny! There is a element of sadness to this film but isn't depressing at all.I would recommend this film for the great nostalgia and fun for kids.

I was still a little kid when I watched this film about 10-11 years ago (I am 21 now). My sister-in-law had rented this film out for me and I remember thinking that it would be utter crap- but was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn't the case. I watched this film a further three times in the week that we had it. I forgot about it for a long time until a friend and I got into a discussion about great teen movies, it was at this moment that "Teen Witch" popped back into mind. I realised that I had to watch it again. I was a little worried that it would not be as good as when I had watched it as a child but I am happy to report that the magic of "Teen Witch" is alive as ever.

Okay so here is the basic outline: A teenage girl who is not ... Read More:

Again this was a film that I bought to try to recapture some of my youth
(unsuccessfully I may add) as it was one that I watched several times as an
impressionable kid in the 80's.

To be perfectly frank the film is pretty terrible, it's badly written, badly
filmed, some of the acting is definitely suspect and it was far too far similar to
other films released about the same era. Mind you when the film has the same director as the more well known Police Academy series, then this probably isn't that surprising. That all said I do genuinely believe this film has a charm and even an innocence that many of the other 80's brat pack high school type movies failed to capture.

Max Mendelsson is the smart ... Read More:

I remember when I first saw this at the age of ten when my dad was flicking through channels whilst having dinner. I vaguely remember him saying "Married With Children! Right now trust me son, if you like the Simpsons you will love this!" As a result I found myself laughing out loud ever since.

I always think the Bundys are hilarious to watch. There's poor old Al, who is a little sexist I suppose at times but when you meet his family you'll understand why! Theres Al's wife Peggy who is sex mad and so utterly lazy it's beyond belief. Al and Peggy's dim daughter Kelly and scheming son Bud. Then there's the neighbours Steve (whose quite normal but later replaced by the full-of-himself Jefferson) and Marcy, who are also wonderful. The plotlines are always ... Read More:
