Okay so here is me a huge spidey fan (of the comics) and this film dispite what meny say is NOT as bad as meny claim.

Quite frankly i enjoyed it but it needs that story telling drive it had in two and even flawed one had that as well 3 just missed in it my eyes.
There was too meny storylines and only so much time to play with but you see thats my main thing with the film the villains... well that and emo dance petey but mostly..... Venom.

Ah Venom.

He is and most likely always will be in my eyes the king of comic book bad guys its a shame they used him for min or two and BOOM gone.
The storyline was kinda stupid also but if you can get past the flaws its a good superhero film at least rent it ... Read More:

Seabiscuit is a beautiful and heartwarming film if ever there was one- and uplifting at the same time. A true story, Seabiscuit rose to fame during the Great American Depression, along with 3 extraordinary men- the "too-tall" jockey Red (Johnny) Pollard, owner Charles Howard and gifted horse-trainer Tom Smith. Seabiscuit was an unimpressive horse, with legs that didn't run straight all the way down. Beaten and broken, and with only 1 win from his first 17 runs, he was bought by C. S Howard for the rock-bottom price of $8000. Howard was looking for a distraction following the death of his young son, and the subsequent divorce from his wife. Tom Smith, an obscure and little heard of trainer, was to train the horse, and Red Pollard to be jockey.

Without a doubt, 2001 was a year filled with rising stars, surprise box office hits, good movies and trends, which go against the norm. "Cats & Dogs" is the latest to join an elite list including "Atlantis: The Lost Empire," "Dr. Dolittle 2," "Spy Kids," "See Spot Run" and "Shrek;" proves family oriented films will entertain all ages.

"Cats & Dogs" is one of the most unique adventure films I have seen because it combines humor, intelligence and the technical savvy to call itself a box-office hit. Additionally, the special effects are truly spectacular to watch and will leave everyone smiling in amazement asking the question; how did they do that? The combination of live actors with voices of actors with incredible special effects immediately elevated "Cats ... Read More:

Pleasantville is an example of creative movie making ripe for hijacking by those with issues to grind.
Director Gary Ross samples social issues and cliches to illuminate this tale in a similar fashion to how historical footage was used in Forrest Gump.
Whatever your preconception of the 50's America ideal is...you'll find it woven in here.
If I studied it in any great depth, i imagine the characters illustrate our vulnerability when society engenders institutionalised thinking. Particulaly the negative aspects of institutionalised thinking.
Anyway, a hugely enjoyable, creative and memorable movie. A great credit to Gary Ross and all those involved.

If you are going to use such poor CGI why not just produce a cartoon? The film itself is pretty run of the mill but the fact that spiderman looks about as realistic as a computer game sprite circa 1983 sends this tumbling down the rubbish shoot. Spidey - you suck son!

John Irving published his novel The Cider House Rules in 1985 to great critical and commercial acclaim. Centred on a Maine orphanage, its central topic of abortion perhaps is the most obvious allusion to the influence of Charles Dickens on Irving's work. The World According to Garp and The Hotel New Hampshire had already been filmed (Garp by the director George Roy Hill in 1982, and Hampshire by Tony Richardson in 1984), both to moderate success, but it wasn't until 1999 that Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom turned Rules into perhaps one of the best screen adaptations of a novel for some years.

The two main characters in "Rules" are Homer Wells, an orphan, and Dr Wilbur Larch, who's in charge of the orphanage where Homer grows up and has become a surrogate father to him. When Homer decides ... Read More:

As a tribute movie it is very well made, in that it attempts to be of the same film noir style that now is long gone. It is very well shot in B/W with great play at light and shadows, the acting feels like it is on stage and it is a crime detecitve story.

Blanchet however is no Bergman, she is a great actress but vulnarable does not become her and this movie does not stand to good comparison to Casablanca. The characters in the Good German are rather simple and the political message is - well suffice to say it has been done some much better before that here it makes the story lame.

Even so it is an o.k. time to spend an hour and a half but hardly a keeper.
