DVD : Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban [2004]
Another Harry Potter film and just like the first 2 films this is an enjoyable film whilst being nothing special. In fact this is a little better than the its two prequels which is a reason I enjoyed it more. The story is getting darker, the young actors are getting better and this movie sucked me in more than the other two did. However, I have given it 3/5 just like I did for the other films although I was tempted to give it 4 instead. I have never read the books, so Im not one of these that bores people by saying "its not as good as the book". Enjoy it for what it is .... an enjoyable childrens films that you can happly watch with your kids.

Robocop is one of the finest action films of the 1980's.

Robocop 2 and Robocop 3 never live up to expectations and don't have the same dark atmosphere. They are worth owning and watching if you have nothing better to do..

I paid £7 for the box set so I am more than happy.

Robocop - 5 Stars
Robocop 2 - 2.5 Stars
Robocop 3 - 2 Stars

The set deserves 4 stars overall.

Despite a lavish and costly production with dozens of elephants and a purpose built set this film feels too long and doesn't grip. Jodie Foster plays the part impeccably but her character is hard to like and there is no chemistry between her and the King. The story is a bit formulaic and left me feeling flat. Although it strains to achieve a sense of the period and an exotic location there is something stagey and stiff about this film.

Unlike the superb BBC serialisation that was faithfully based on Mary Norton's book from the 50's, this film has been updated and an American TV star brought in. Unfortunately the script and plot isn't really quite as good as the original book and the out of place slapstick does reduce the tension somewhat. My son (9) and daughter (11) really liked this film, but I preferred the two BBC 'borrowers' series, first screened in 1993 and 1994 (make sure you get the two DVD set, series one and two - 6 hours of quality children's TV). The BBC series is far darker, being played straight with no slapstick and despite the Borrower's amusing antics and the witty script, it's got many quite tense moments and is all the better for it. The special effects in the film (and ... Read More:
