I love this DVD. LOVE IT!!! Tommys jokes are funny, and i can relate to them, im irish! but thats the problem with this DVD. Its TOO irish. The english probably wont get most of the jokes. If your irish, youll love it. if your english, youll laugh a bit, but sometimes youll be like "wha???". English people, get an english comedian, you've plenty of great ones. Or if you want an Irish comedian who you can understand, get Dara O'Briain, hes great too.

DVD : About Adam [2001]
I watched this the other night and am still smiling now. My daughter and I sat glued to it and it had laughs in all the right places. Kate Hudsons' accent was pretty good, not perfect but then neither is mine! Frances O'Connor was fantastic as the slightly dotty sister who always has her nose in a book. But the most oustanding performance has got to be from Stuart Townsend. He was brilliant from start to finish and had us in stitches.

The story is pretty simple...Lucy,(Hudson), is the youngest daughter of a typical Irish family. She's always flitting from boyfriend to boyfriend getting bored with them all very quickly. That is until she meets shy, sweet and perfect Adam,(Townsend). The story is told from the perspective of all the members of ... Read More:

With his seemingly boundless energy and bravery, Tiernan explores what it means to be Irish in the 21st century. Tiernan is a mad manic dangerous genius of a performer who in my opinion is up there with the greats (CONNOLLY, HICKS, ROCK, MORAN). He is a man who is unafraid to tell you what is on his somewhat cracked mind and leave you feeling joyful, thoughtful and sore from laughing.
Tommy Tiernan is Irish comedy.

DVD : Hold Back The Night [1999]

Despite the gross and unnecessary bad language this movie opens with, this is indeed one of the most beautiful films and probably one of the best movies to come out of the 90s - but this is largely due to the fabulous award-winning performance from Sheila Hancock - and a great soundtrack!

Three very different people and a dog - all strangers meet and sort of 'adopt' each other. Many scenes in this film are extremely moving and will touch the most hardened of viewers. However, the character Charleen does not earn much sympathy from the viewer (at least not from me!) Despite her unfortunate background, I did have a big problem with her and never particularly warmed to her throughout the movie. In fact, I was genuinely sorry that when ... Read More:
