This series had more funding than the first, and it does show. The cast are now established, it's as if the roles are now second nature to them. There's some absolute classic lines, the line in the episode "Kryten" when they realise that the crew they've gone to rescue have been actually been dead for several centuries and Lister turns to Rimmer and says "the blonde one's winking at you" still has me doubled over laughing today.

Red Dwarf is so original and simply can't be copied - the Americans have tried and failed miserably. What makes it is the cast, no-one else could have played any character, with any other actors it just doesn't work, they're so perfect in the roles. This series is sheer brilliance.

This is excellent entertainment. Unfortunately, being part of the 'GOM' brigade ourselves, we do not own a DVD player - why isn't this item available on a video?

Ken Burns has captured the drama, the triumph, the tragedy and more importantly - The truth of the opening and colonization of the American West in this masterpiece of film work. I ordered "The West" as a follow up to watching Ken Burns' "The Civil War" (also an excellent production) to fill in some of the "gaps" and I was not disappointed, "The West" provides a massive amount of historical information in a well-planned, easy to follow and concise manner. The rich panoramic camera-work coupled with original photos, quotes, commentaries and period music delivers a sense of reality, one can almost imagine standing on the plains with the pioneers or cringing from a cavalry charge. The film is not patriotic, there is no attempt to conceal or sugarcoat unpleasant ... Read More:

This is probably the most terrible film I have ever watched. Well made it about 20 minutes in and could not bear anymore. Only saving grace is Eliza Dushku but you can just skip to the scene where she is in the changing rooms. God knows how this has got 4 and a half stars. It is a comedy and my friend and I did not laugh once.

Good 90 minute documentary. Lots of talking heads (no John Carmack though). Also, completely US-centric except for a mention of Populace and Tetris, no mention of Elite, UK based micros etc. Actually a good intro to the history of the video game industry up to 2002ish.

Many years ago I was a bad skater, for a short period of time. However enjoyed watching skate videos. Have seen some of the Kingpin and 64mm videocasts and wanted to buy something similar.

I was hoping for a dvd with lots of clips of tricks and skating, with a good soundtrack and an edgy feel. This video wasn't really what I was looking for. There was quite alot of Tony, and those with him, talking about how great the idea of visiting parks was, and how great it was they were just skating, and how great the little kid is, how great it all was.

There was some good skating, but too much filler, and not very good filler at that. However I watched the slam section, and that was the best bit. Lots of skating, no talking.

Being a fan of the Gumball, i was excited to see the latest DVD hit the shops. Like the other reviewers, i was disappointed with the results. As mentioned previously, it lacks the ingredients which made the 2003 DVD fun to watch (characters, insane driving, excitement). The extras are a joke - what is the point of the Gumball(fast)?????, and the one piece of footage i was looking forward to seeing (Kim Schmitz driving over Cannes promenade) wasnt there. It seems there was so much footage which could have been used alternatively to make it better. There is a lack of 'character' - we see a North African man called Momo say things like "i'm not a competitor" and "i dont like driving fast". Why include this on an endurance rally famous for the 'balls-to-the-wall' driving ... Read More:
