The chickens are tired of life on the farm, and fed up with being eaten when they get too old to produce eggs. They hatch various plans to escape , but none succeed. Then Rocky the Rooster (voiced by Mel Gibson) lands among them, and they think that he can fly and will help them to escape. But can he really fly?

This film is very amusing and the children love it. I enjoy it too. I do however always find myself rather cynically wondering (at the end of the film, when they have escaped to their life of freedom), how they are going to fare the first time they encounter a fox, or when it gets cold and food is scarce and they find themselves longing for their nice warm hen-house back on the farm. Stifle such doubts, just enjoy ... Read More:

Took me ten years to catch this film had no idea what I had missed.
The film was given to me because of my deep love of Cornwall, in truth I would watch just about any old tripe if it included shots of the Cornish coast I love so dear. This coast has been an inspiration for artists for centuries. On a visit to Cornwall an inspired Richard Wagner wrote the greatest opera ever written - Tristan and Isolde.

Joseph Conrad in his story Amy Foster was at his most insightful. It is largely a story about 'difference' and how a shipwrecked stranger can be treated with hostility by the local community to the point where this endangers his life, Conrad was himself a polish immigrant to England. Amy, for quite diverse reasons is also ... Read More:

This was transmitted in two parts in England in 2006 and was one of the television highlights of the year.

The basic plot is the re-appearance of a British submarine that was lost and sunk in World War 2, the only survivor is recruited by the admiralty to attempt to discover what happened to the rest of the crew and how the submarine resurfaced. After boarding the sub the investigation team begin to take on characteristics of the original crew and their ultra secret mission, to destroy a top secret target in Russia and set sail to complete this task that was set in motion 65 years previously.

The drama is a mix of a ghost story coupled with science fiction and is very reminiscent of Sapphire and Steel in dealing with the past ... Read More:

DVD : The Mayor Of Casterbridge [2003]
A remarkable film, noteworthy for the skill with which it captures the grim, elemental force of the Hardy novel. Ciaràn Hinds, physically large, brooding and saturnine, is quite magnificent as the doom-laden Henchard, and succeeds brilliantly in making us see the "man of character" at the centre of the story as an object of pity every bit as much as a selfish man worthy of contempt. Jodhi May gives a sensitive and intelligent performance as Elizabeth Jane, and the rest of the acting is uniformly of a very high standard. This is a stark and disturbing tale, and the sense of unfolding tragedy is well conveyed by the cinematography, with its emphasis on dark interiors and on slightly menacing outdoor scenes illuminated by flat and subdued lighting. I just watched this movie, and the first minutes I was like omg what kinda of a low budget movie is this gonna be, but! From the moment Amled "goes insane" it is really good! I loved it, even though the scenery isn't wauw (But's Denmark so what should one expect)and the clothes isn't wauw and it't didn't exactly feel like it was happening in Denmark (I guess it's just because the scenery I usually look at is somewhat different)it's very enjoyable! With some great performences too, especially from young Bale, he's dazzling!! I was certaintly not dissapointed!! It's a great story by Saxo, more rauw than Hamlet, and though they are much alike, they are not the same, and they are great in each their way, but it is bit easier to imagaine that the story of Amled ... Two, great friends leave Verona for Milan. Valentine with great enthusiasm and Proteus unwillingly, as he will have to leave his recently-betrothed Julia. Valentine soon falls in love with Silvia, daughter of the Duke of Milan, but then Proteus meets the captivating Silvia . . . and he too becomes besotted.
One of Shakespeare's earliest plays, this comedy examines the conflicts between friendship and love. This production, with Tyler Butterworth and John Hudson in the title roles, revels in the moral twists and turns undergone in the contests of wit, disguises of lovers, tragic betrayals, dangerous outlaws and comic interludes.
The accomplished elegance of the lyrical verse in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, as well as the skilful, theatrically effective ... Read More:

DVD : A Month In The Country [1987]
Taken as a whole, this is a rather splendid, at times haunting, film which is based upon J.L. Carr's (1916-1994) beautiful and delicately crafted novella entitled 'A Month in the Country', 1980.

The main plot is set during the warm Summer of 1919 and tells of how two young men struggle to regain their 'peace of mind' in the tranquil Yorkshire countryside, after having experienced the horrors of 'The Great War' (World War 1).

A lady benefactor has bequeathed a considerable sum of money to a church in Yorkshire; in order for the church to realize the benefit of this gift, a medieval mural must be uncovered from beneath the Victorian paintwork superimposed over it. Simultaneously, the remains of one of the benefactor's predecessors are to be ... Read More:

DVD : The Infiltrator [1995]
The infiltrator is truley a master piece, the directors depiction of the neo nazis is what i believe to be the most accurate of all time in a movie and Oliver Platt plays a truley mind blowing role. I strongley recommend any one over the age of 18 to see the movie.
