Such a lovely series, never takes itself seriously although there are so many moral threads running through it. It's great fun and a simply gorgeous series to watch with the beautiful sets and clothes.

The bad guys are marvellously unlikeable and the good guys are thoroughly loveable, a great series all girls should watch and enjoy.

Richard Gere appears as the suave Defence Lawyer Martin Vail, looking for that one case that really is going to jettison him up to the top bracket and he seizes his chance when he defends Aaron, the choirboy accused of murdering the Archbishop in whose home he lives.Aaron, played by Edward Norton is caught after a long chase, running from near the scene covered in blood, though he has no memory of committing the crime admits to witnessing it.He has no reason he says for killing the Archbishop who he says he loved as a person.Aaron has a very bad "stammer", and when seen by a psychologist in a holding cell she sees he has another side to him?

Ken Burns has captured the drama, the triumph, the tragedy and more importantly - The truth of the opening and colonization of the American West in this masterpiece of film work. I ordered "The West" as a follow up to watching Ken Burns' "The Civil War" (also an excellent production) to fill in some of the "gaps" and I was not disappointed, "The West" provides a massive amount of historical information in a well-planned, easy to follow and concise manner. The rich panoramic camera-work coupled with original photos, quotes, commentaries and period music delivers a sense of reality, one can almost imagine standing on the plains with the pioneers or cringing from a cavalry charge. The film is not patriotic, there is no attempt to conceal or sugarcoat unpleasant ... Read More:

With Salvador, regarded as Oliver Stone's debut proper (ignoring The Hand), Stone set the framework for his entire career thus far (with the possible exception of World Trade Center, which I have not yet seen).

Salvador is raw, urgent, politically bold (especially when it was made in the Reagan era of Rambo and Top Gun), visually stylish and forcefully well written. James Woods delivers a career-best performance which is even more impressive considering that he's made films such as Once Upon a Time in America and Casino (and that one with Sylvester Stallone that was a crock of crap).

This is a great film that fully deserves its place in the Oliver Stone repertoire, so add it to your collection now... NOW! For some excellent background ... Read More:

On the one hand, this movie gained a lot by the sheer presence of Samuel.L.Jackson but, on the other hand, the community of the students was represented in a perfect way. So to speak, full out of life.

The gap between the two sides and the life of the teachers was displayed in an uncommitted way. No questions left. Except opening the whole discussion about aggression in schools and how to educate a problematic generation. The show of brutality was unnecessary. We have seen the scenes before in action and other movies. Or was it, to emphasize the conflict?

Haunting music follows the tale of a brother and sister from Guatemala, and the repression in their village, up through Mexico, and to the "promised land" of the USA (El Norte). Attitudes change throughout the story, to the village, and to the destination. Above all, the need for the pair to be together because they are all eac other has. Must see.

My wife suggested this movie while browsing in the local video store mainly because of her fascination for all things Brosnan whom she has liked since she first saw Remington Steele.

Very reminiscent at the outset of Blown Away, the premise suggests that the US, so long immune from terrorist threat, may be subject to internal terroism. As the plot proceeds, one is reminded of the storyline of Die Hard where a supposed terrorist is nothing but a robber.

Themeans by which the terror is spread is an explosive which is detonated by the human body itself and thus leaves no trace. Brosnan appears as an explosives expertwith a personal life in turmoil instigated in the first instance by the accidental drowning of his young daughter in the family swimming ... Read More:
