I love this adventure, pure escapism. I'm a fan of Stargate and when this spin off came out I was a bit worried but I got hooked from the first episode and still am!!! in fact I would even go as far as to say I like it better. And what about John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) cor! could watch him all day!! But on a more serious note, I hope this lasts as long as SG1 and carries on being as good. The stories are great and every episode transports you to another place. Keep it up!!!

In response to the earlier reviewers question, no the copies for sale are not pirates. The English copy isn't released till January, but other European countries' copies have already been released, thats what they're selling. Apparently they do have english soundtracks though.
Back to the product, this show is sci-fi at its best. Series 3 has relatively few weak episodes and most of it is brilliant. If you're into sci-fi, buy it.

I have found these episodes quite intriguing espically the last two episodes. It is great that the makers have put alot of time and effect in making the final series a breath-taking at which people see if Major Sheppard survives or not.

Stargate Atlantis Season Two starts with the third part of a trilogy of episodes. Because of this what may have been a brilliant episode was slightly confusing for me, having not seen the first season. The second episode was similarly disappointing as they, admittedly openly, ripped off an episode of Stargate SG1, which felt very by the book, however it did give me a chance to grasp each characters personality and get into the show as a whole. The third episode Runner was a welcome change, this episode was brilliant and gave me hope for the rest of the season, it was funny, and dramatic what I like best from my TV. Duet, the fourth episode, raised my opinion even further as I witnessed what was pretty much a purely comical episode. If the rest of the season continues ... Read More:

What can i say they have pulled of a miracle i thought Stargate SG1 would go off the map after Richard Dean Anderson left. Boy was i wrong it gets better and better each time and am just as hooked as when it first began.

With new charactors Cameron Mitchell (Ben Browder) who is awesome in the new role as leader and also Vala Mal Doran (Claudia Black)as the lead female for some of season nine while (Amanda Tapping was off having a baby, made great additions. Claudia Black's charactor is to become a regular in season 10

Also the new big bad the Ori who believe everyone should bowl down and worship if not they will kill and punish you, also trouble within the free Jaffa nation trying to get used to things without the Goa'uld even if some are still ... Read More:

I can see what they were trying to do when they made this film. The scenery and cinematography are lovely, and the makers were clearly trying to catch some of the romance and beauty of a bygone era. To a degree they succeeded but sadly on a visual basis only. The storyline is weak and strains credibility, and the characters are wooden and lifeless, with the central character played by Ralph Fiennes being one of the most boring character of the whole film - in fact he was so borinig that I can't even remember the character's name. Overall I am amazed how such a conspiculously expensive and lavish production manages to be so utterly dull.
