No great insights admittedly but I really enjoyed this film. It's light hearted with great performances from Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd and newcomer Saoirse Ronan before she made Atonement. My 13 year old daughter loves this film and really thinks the mum and daughter relationship is cool. It's a chick flick, but a really good one!

Definitely buy this movie. Excellent plot, sattire, Mel Brooks at his best. This is film you can sit down and guarantee yourself you will enjoy every minute and watch again and again. A must for any comedy collection, all the actors play an excellent part and I would say its even better than Prince of Thieves!

This is a great TV show and I was really excited to find out it would be released over here on DVD. What a disappointment, not in the show itself which I must add is brilliant but in the picture and sound department. The picture quality is shocking, the compression is some of the worst I have seen in a long time it is worse the VHS. Shame on Network and Granada for not giving this a good re-master it deserves. I have movies and TV series that have been released on DVD which were made over 30 years ago and they look great as they have been digitally restored in all their glory so they have no excuse to release a great TV show like this in this state. First things first. If you don't like Allen's work you wont like this. However, if you like his humour you'll love this. He's done a great job in showing up luvies pretensions and self opinionated egos. It's basically a piss take at art and as usual Woody Allen does a brilliant job. Not hilarious, just ironically funny.

Plenty, is the sad and terribly unconvincing story of English woman Susan Traherne's life during and after WWII. Entirely crafted by Fred Schepisi, from a play by David Hare, Plenty portrays Susan's life, from the dangers and excitements of Resistance fighter in France to the twenty or so following years of boredom, disillusion and bourgeois existence. Determined to change the world, Susan returns to England, only to face a vacuous society, far more concerned by coping with reality than to change it. Susan is supposed to have lived such an intense and meningful life (dangers, excitements, passionate love and worth-to-die-for feelings and gestures) during her Resistance years in France, that she has become unfit to reality. This quite a unique movie. It's worth a watch regardless of what others might say. I Love You To Death tells a [true] story about a cheating husband trying to be knocked off by his wife. Poisoning is the first choice. When the over dose of pills don't work, they ask a very love struck bus boy to pull the trigger. There last resort is to hire 2 very drugged up "hitman." Kevin Kline, Tracey Ullman, Joan Plowright are very good playing this slightly dysfunctional family. River Phoenix is also very convincing as a moonstruck, busboy. And there is William Hurt and Keanu Reeves. I do have to agree with the person whose comment said, "They make Dumb and Dumber look like yale graduates." Brilliant Confession Scene that forms part of the film's trailer...

this film is a satire on american values ,and sadly just comes across as a load of daft and unfathonable spliced shorts. thank the powers that be for tracey ullman and the other main players without whom this film would be for the bin! rickwill

This is such a good DVD, beautifully re-mastered and restored. The music is among McCartneys best and the soundtrack album that followed is one of my all time favorite Paul Mccartney albums. It should not be judged as a film, but more a series of music videos coupled together with some background story. True there is a storyline and it does the job to keep you entertained between the real treats (the songs), watching "Give My Regards To Broad Street over 20 years ago and again today, it still has a definate feel good factor and I just love the Eleanors Dream sequence, the music and the film is excellent dont listen to the critics!

John Waters has been an inspiration, a guide in good (bad) taste and a personal hero since I was 13. 24 years later nothing has changed and this DVD box-set was a joy. It's like being shot in the head by your favourite member of the Manson Family or joining a sickening cult who relentlessly coerce you into getting a life. I'm biased of course. I think John Water's movies should be obligatory by law. However I do have some questions...like where the hell is Multiple Maniacs and why has Serial Mom been omitted from the list? What you DO get are classics like Pink Flamingos in which the protagonists struggle to prove themselves to be the filthiest people alive, while Desperate Living has the greatest Backwards Day scene ever filmed while hippies blasted on LSD ...
