This is a great example of the type of ensemble comedy series that the Americans do so well. A great central cast, quirky storylines and entertaining guest appearances make this a must watch. Would recommend this on a par with Scrubs, How I met Your Mother and Arrested Development.

This is a really good film in all aspects. If you watch it simply as a very well produced film version of a fictional book, it is great to sit back and admire the quality of the work. Some reviewers however do appear to have been misled into believing that the plot in some way matches the facts of the actual events of the famous Stopes trial. This is the fault of the book and misleading information over the years rather than the film per se, although there is no more attempt to inform the viewer of the film of this than there is the reader of the original play. if you have any doubt about the disparity between this fiction and the facts, watch the film, research the details of the actual people involved and read the genuine trial transcripts ... I thought this film was funny and that it had a good story to it. Basically its a little guy who just gets out of prison and he tries to rob and he gets a diamond. When he gets it he ends up getting caught up with a young couple who soon want to have children. He pretends to be a baby and he acts like it the whole way through with some funny parts in it and in the end they find out he isnt a baby and he leaves. Pretty basic story line but a good funny film.

For those of you who do not know this movie, it is one of the most charming films ever made. It is the original on which You've got Mail, with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, is based. Set in an indeterminate east European country, probably Hungary, James Stewart is superb in the role of a gift shop manager who is the "pen pal" of one of his own shop assistants, Margaret O'Sullivan, without either of them knowing this is the case. They dislike each other from the moment, she starts working there. Of course it all turns out well in the end and romance blossom's. The film has a wonderful script and there are fine performances from the whole cast, all of whom were "stock" actors of the period. They really do not make films like this any more!

i am a huge fan of chris rock and Down to Earth is one of my favourate movies of all time but his one was rubbish there are one or two funny moments but apart from that there is nothing not even a cheap laugh to keep you going. A massive problem is his female co-star who is supposed to be the love of his life but he only meets her twice and the lack of chemistry between the two of them and her uninspiring performance makes you want to cry! Chris rock is far better in down to Earth, buy that instead.

I have had this movie on Video for ages and have wanted the DVD, unfortunatly my only option was to buy the US version, which I have now done. This movie is one of my must sees, a very moving film, which all my friends hadnt seen before and have loved. As to the previous reviews if the book is even better, I will go and buy. This is a must for your DVD collection.

I've been trying to work up some kind of pun based around 60 and 30, but I've failed, so I'll just get back to the basics: '30 Rock' episodes are half the length of 'Studio 60' episodes, but pack in at least twice as many laughs; '30 Rock' episodes have more sympathetic and believable characters (even though they are, variously, neurotic, slobby, medicated, anal and boorish) than any of the West Coast navel gazers in 'Studio 60'; '30 Rock' doesn't try to moralize about (... ooh, let's pick a subject...) Iraq - it aims for your funny bone and hits at least 75% of the time, and that's a quite amazing hit rate. '30 Rock' is the creation of Tina Fey (who I may just be falling in love with).
