Maybe I'm nit-picking, but Little Bear is very definitely Canadian not American. The accent, to my English ears, is far gentler than the shouty American voices I hear in Dora the Explorer etc. (Maybe it's because I have Canadian relatives and friends). Anyway, LB is a real charmer and my three-year-old son thinks these stories are just great. You can see LB on Nick Jr every night at 6.30.

Forbidden is a story about how Jason gets with a girl (Nikki) on his stag night and then she comes back into his life 3 years later.

He is so obsessed with her that he doesn't notice Nikki's bloke (Andy) go off with his own wife (Lisa) but things soon develop and they all know whats going on.

If you're looking for soft porn, this is it at its finest with Lisa (Tracy Ryan) putting in an excellent performance, although not much is seen of her as is wished. Nikki (Renee Rea) gets most of the action with a lesbian shower scene the highlight. All together a very good acquisition to the library.

DVD : Bad Day at Black Rock [1955] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
It's satisfying to see a relatively small movie that was made efficiently by pros become so widely liked and respected. Bad Day at Black Rock has just about everything...a gripping story that carries a message, vivid characters but a small cast, a dangerous setting, the plight of a brave loner on the side of justice who beats the odds. And it doesn't have dumb things...an extraneous love story, outraged citizens who meet in a church, excessive violence, time spent on flashbacks. It was a long wait for this one to come out on DVD, but it was worth it.

Among many elements I admire are the three character actors: Russell Collins as the weak, cowardly telegraph agent, Dean Jagger as the played-out sheriff (his humiliation at the hands ... Read More:

My 3year old daughter LOVES this program & I actually found it very helpful, I first showed her it on tv as she was starting nursery & was nervous about it, but since watchin the show she had NO issues going. So not only was it an enjoyable, fun & educating show for her to watch, it also taught her that school is a fun place :) I highly recomend it.

DVD : Promised Land [1988] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
I got a copy of the film 'Promised Land' from a friend. It is set in a small midwestern town where high school basketball is king. Sounds rather like Indiana, doesn't it? This gave the initial appeal to me, as films like this can help me understand the people in the area better -- at least, that was my hope, since I am not an Indiana native, but that was where I found myself for several years.

The actors are all very young. The film stars a very young Keifer Sutherland (Danny) and Meg Ryan (Bev) as a rather unlikely couple. The real 'star' of the film, the one who gets top billing, is Jason Gedrick (Hancock), whose career has been rather less prominent than Sutherland's or Ryan's. Tracy Jo Pollan (Mary) also ...
