Although this DVD is lacking in extras (there aren't any), the sheer quality and diversity of Green Day videos more than makes up for it! From the early 'Dookie'-era to the pre-'American Idiot' vids of 'Warning', this collection showcases a dozen image changes for the band - Billie Joe undergoing a transformation from nose-pierced bratty teenager delivering angst-ridden punk anthems to subdued, vulnerable balladeer in videos like 'Good Riddance' and 'Redundant'. "Dookie", when it came out, reminded me of early Who, who were a local group where I grew up. After hearing the CD, especially the cover of The Isley Brothers/Lulu's "Shout", in the light of their own "rock opera", "American Idiot", I wonder how they would do "Tommy". It's certainly, to me at least, an interesting proposition. How about it?

This movie probably won't be for everyone. But I love it!! It contains black humor, Catchy songs (however, some that have watched this have commented the songs are too long - if you have a short attention span, this one ain't for you) and a brilliant cast. I bought this out of sheer exitement and panicked at first when I realised it was region 1 (I live in the UK). Some dvd players will work, some wont. It can also be viewed using windows media player by changing the region. All in all I highly recommend this film!! But you'll only know if you see for yourself ^-^

In the summer of 2002 Blink 182, Green Day and Jimmy Eat World went on a major tour of the US, and Blink 182 invited unknown band Kut U Up along for the ride. The whole thing was filmed resulting in Riding in Vans With Boys. From start to finish Riding in Vans With Boys is non stop hilarity as a trail of destruction and drunken laughter is left in there wake. What results is a film about a bunch of guys traveling round the US messing around backstage, some real life drama, with some excellent live performances thrown in for good measure from all the bands involved.
