I bought the boxset because I study English and Little Britain is part of the British culture. Moreover, we in Russia have the sketch show called Little Russia which was made under the BBC licence. I had always wanted to watch the original....
Well, I have to agree with 1-star reviews.At first pissing and vomiting ladies, the only gays in the village shocked me a little bit, then annoyed me because Walliams and Lucas repeated them endlessly over and over again, just altering costumes and places.
To my great surprise and bewilderment Little Britain won multiple awards and this situation shows, in my opinion of course, the lowering of intellect of people who enjoy this show.

If the interviews and commentary-track on the Dead Man's Shoes DVD are anything to go by, even Meadows himself considers this film to be something of a failure... even going so far as to take up semi-retirement until Paddy Considine could talk him into making another film. As a result of Meadows' personal opinion, coupled with the critical notices at the time, I'd avoided the film under the allusion that it was an absolute cinematic disaster... a Brit-flick turkey completely devoid of merit!! If you loved Shane meadows last film A Room For Romeo Brass you will love this one very funny.

Dek(Rhys Ifans) and Shirley (Shirley Henderson) live together with Marlene (Finn Atkins) in a house in Nottingham.Dek Askes Shirley to marrie him on Live tv but,little do they know that Shirley's Ex Jimmy the gangster sees the show in Glasgow and comes to the Midlands for revenge.And the fun starts the movie is filled with Nottingham humor and accents Robert Carlyle is great as the gangster and it's all out fun.
