I've reviewed this film in the none Blu-ray section and would reiterate my previous remarks.

Watch the original instead - Infernal Affairs is a far superior film.

Ray Winstone is awful and sports the worst US accent I think I've ever heard - so bad, I thought it was an addition to the plot, where we were going to discover his character is a foreign infiltrator. Jack Nicolson hams it up badly. Martin Sheen is under used. DeCaprio and Damon are miscast.

However, Mark Wahlberg thoroughly deserved his Oscar nomination and Alec Baldwin was entertaining as always.

Sadly, following the success of this film, I suspect the whole wonderful Infernal Affairs triology will be remade and ruined by the US ... Read More:

Perhaps expectations of this film have been too high. I'm reviewing it mainly to redress the balance. There aren't that many decently made watchable films set in London that a good piece of work like this should be missed. It reminds me of Sunday Bloody Sunday, a story based on domesticity and the understanding and misunderstandings between a small group of interesting and likeable people, pretty well acted. Binoche is excellent, no-one is less than believable. The plot is maybe - but that's cinema. If you like a quiet well made and well shot film don't miss it.

In `Running Scared' Paul Walker plays Joey, a low level mobster who has a gun in his possession that was used to kill some crooked cops in a drug deal gone wrong. When the gun is stolen by his young next-door neighbour and used in a shooting, Joey must find the gun before the cops or the rest of his mob do.

This is a very gritty, violent and dark thriller which is completely different from anything I've seen Walker in before. It's action-heavy and extremely tense throughout the whole film and had me guessing what was going to happen next right until the end. It has a very modern feel to it to with some impressive effects, similar to Fight Club, which I wasn't expecting.

Overall this is a decent thriller that didn't disappoint ... Read More:

To start with I have to say that this is one of the best films that I have ever seen. The reason - it really is simply magical; it has a lovely feel about it that can't be expressed in words.

Now to those who want a story accurate to the traditional German folk story, as was collected by the Brothers Grimm, this may not be for you. It in fact is really quite different though it does stick to the general premise. It incorporates a mix of elements, many new, however others taken from "The Snow Queen". However, as all folk and fairy tales change over time, this version is no inferior to any other, and in my opinion at least this is the best.

Many reviewers have called this a "dark" film. I wouldn't necessarily agree, though it is definately ... Read More:

First off, why has Amazon allowed the same review three times? Strange.
Now the film, very odd may be the best way to describe it. Confusing and the first half is diabolical. The lead man in the now is completely unbelieveable as the character doesn't suit the actor. In the past, the english speaking actors give a reasonable account of themselves, the action is very violent and a little OTT at times. The ending redeems the film a little but it is at best rented. Don't like giving a bad review and I did persevere through it to give it a chance but 2 stars is the best I can offer.

It took me a while to watch this movie after reading some negative reviews , but I was greatly surprised by this beautiful piece of work by Anthony Minghella .It tells the story of Will ( Jude Law ) an architect and Amira ( Juliette Binoche ) an Bosnian refugee in North London and touches on several subjects like relationships and immigration

The film starts with a break in and the story becomes interesting from the beginning, the pace is good , the story is simple but beautifully put together , perhaps the best thing about this movie is the way AA wraps the whole thing in the end.

It is filmed around Charing Cross and North London and for some reason the director choose not to have panoramic shots of the area and concentrate on the characters. ... Read More:

"Dummy" is one of the weirdest, most heartwarming indie films that most moviegoers have never seen. Unless they are rabid Adrian Brody fans.

That's unfortunate, because this wild, slightly surreal film is enormous fun. It starts off with a quirky family, like a suburban Wes Anderson story, but slowly becomes something more heartwarming as the hero learns to follow his bliss. It's weird enough to be cool, but sweet enough to give you the warm fuzzies.

Steven Schoichet (Adrian Brody) is a suburban Dilbert. His job is a dead end, and he's still living with his battleship-building dad, his sweetly oblivious mom and his embittered sister Heidi (Illeana Douglas). On impulse, he decides to buy a ventriloquist's dummy and learns how to use it. This, he ... Read More:
