What a funny thrill ride this movie is! A man (Dennis Quaid) volunteers to be shrunk down to the size of a cell and injected into a rabbit. But terrorists are after this scientific breakthrough and by various hijinks he winds up being injected into the butt of a nervous grocery clerk, played by Martin Short. And that's just the beginning. Innerspace shows Dennis Quaid at his most winning, and Short at his funniest. And of course, there's a very young Meg Ryan as their love interest. The jokes resonate with both kids and adults, and unlike most action-adventure films, the plot here is never short of ideas. This is 80's shoot 'em up heroics at their best. Arnie is perfect as a one man army in this nun blasting piece of action cinema. It's daft but superb fun.

Arnie's back, this time as Matrix, a guy who was involved in the special services. He's been hunted down after they discover the identities of the people who did bad deeds under the name of the law. They want Matrix to kill the president, so they can take charge of a Latin American island. They're seriously considering killing his daughter, so Matrix has to be fast! This is a fun movie if you like action adventure, but the plot is a bit thin on the ground - but if you want guns and guts this will please you no end. Shame the transfer is poor - MPEG2 running at a steady 30MB/s, but the picture quality is just not convincing: moments in the film look grainy and over-compressed; and the sound even has a few pops and clicks along the ... Ive watched this film more times than any other since it was first released on VHS in 1983. It made a lasting impession on me and ive never seen it bettered by any others of its type including 1985's Thunderdome. So many elements are combined here; SciFi, Horror, Action, Western, Revenge Thriller and combined well. Mad Max was good but this really ramps it up. Set in a desolate and lawless future Australian outback after the fall of civilisation(post world war 3 but NOT after a nuclear conflict - the Bombs fall in the years between parts 2 & 3) the saga continues of Max Rockatansky, the embittered and battle hardened warrior of the wasteland, constantly at war with the ferocious marauders who terrorise the apocalyptic landscape. Of the three Mad Max films this is my favourite. The picture and sound are not going to blow you away, so this isn't the title to show off to your mates. This isn't a fault of BluRay but more limitations of the original film materials. A bonus on this BluRay is an audio commentary with director George Miller and cinematographer Dean Semler. This offers a great insight into the early 80s Australian independant film making process. And they too point out sections where they would have done things differently had they the money and the resources. 'The Road Warrior' holds up smashingly well as a great car crash action movie, but it also maintains surprising relevance as a look at a post-apocalyptic future. And the young Mel Gibson is such an effortless movie star that watching 'Warrior' 25 years on almost makes you forget his recent tabloid troubles. This first-ever high-def release of the film is a godsend -- the transfer has finally been remastered, and we even get an HD exclusive audio commentary. Sure, the supplements are otherwise fairly thin and the audio package is still somewhat lacking, but 'The Road Warrior' in high-def is a huge step up for this much-beloved cult classic.

Being a big fan of the Highlander films (excluding 4-5, including search for vengeance)and Christopher lambert I bought fortress years ago on vhs expecting pretty much the same sort of fair as Highlander and I was nicely surprised. What surprised me the most was how watchable fortress is, I must have watched my old vhs dozens of times and to be honest im still not tired of it now. The plot is very easy to get into, if a little clicé but that doesnt matter you dont need to think with fortress because it is good old straight forward action fair that any sci-fi fan can enjoy especially on a rainy day. i must admit when i saw the cover of the dvd,lots of things went through my mind.i was visualising tony todd(candyman)as the dual leads,the artwork whetted my appetite as i am a fan of previous incarnations of robert louis stevensons classic.but sadly, i wish i had looked closer at the cover for in the background is a present day setting! like "jack the ripper" the original victorian setting with its smog enshrouded sets it adds to the eerie atmosphere.but alas this is set in present day america? dr henry jeckyll is experimenting with primates blood & dna etc.a face from the soaps of the 80s tracy scoggins shows up as detective utterson, and yes she aint bad.but all the way through this film you keep asking yourself "is this still dr jekyll ...
